B&H Imposing Religion on Customers

I just tried to order something from B&H. Their site told me they don't accept online orders till 7PM on Saturday. I understand the reason: they are Jewish and observing their Sabboth. While I agree that in the U.S. they are welcome to do so I am also welcome to not have them impose their religious beliefs on me. So I'll never try to order from them again.

This is just for information. I fully expect everyone in the U.S. to be free to make their own decisions on this type of thing.

I won't have my wife wear a burrkah either.

Sorry. I'm not Jewish-- and I'm not a participant in any organized religion, but I couldn't disagree with you more. I applaud their decision. What is so wrong about delaying your purchase by 24 hours? <rhetorical question-- doesn't require an answer... just some thought>

Respectfully submittted....

So sorry you feel that way. I do not believe they need your money. You are free to take it else where.

This is one of the dumbest posts I have ever read. They are not even close to "imposing" their beliefs. If a store is closed on Sunday, are they imposing anything on anyone?

Anyone who has been in the photographic field for more than a few weeks knows the B&H policies. Hardly a big deal.

You have come out of your closet - you are a bigot. I am so disappointed in you.

My religion is my own business. But if I decide that the proper practice of my religion requires that I close my business on Sunday and religious holidays, and you want to have a hissy fit because you can't delay your order one day, go ahead and buy from someone else. If this is the way you think, I don't think we would have a constructive business relationship anyway. There is a word for people like you - BIGOT! But remember, God loves you antway.

If they only sold to Jewish people then you might be able to support your statement. Otherwise it is bulls**t

Wow I have never heard of this B&H place but went over to their website. It says nothing about being jewish or any other religion. It just states that online ordering is not available until 7pm Saturday. Oh well if you think that is imposing religious beliefs on you then you truly ignorant!!

I have no doubt that the owners and/or managers (and possibly a number of their employees) are members of the Jewish religion. If the make it a policy to practice Shabbat, I not only agree with their decision to be devout; I applaud it heartily!
