While I was in town yesterday, I saw a new sign, "HARBOR FREIGHT." It's in the building that used to be Office Depot, so it's huge. I'll have to get a good night's sleep and fortify my sales resistance before I visit for the first time.

Several years ago I needed a hammer drill to drill some holes in concrete. Home Depot wanted $35 to rent one for three hours. I went to Harbor Freight and bought one for $25. I still have it, and it still works.

One of they keys to success in the corporate world is whenever something truly deserves to be called bullshit instead use the term "remarkable."

I bought a used Sigma 18-200 from them and it was in absolutely mint condition. Great company to do business with.

What were the dimensions of the file you printed... in PIXELS? That's all that matters.

An excellent 20x30 can be made from a file that comes out of the camera as 4000x6000 pixels and gets enlarged (interpolated) to 4800x7200 pixels before printing. An acceptable 20x30 of SOME subject matter can be made with as few as 3000x4500 camera pixels enlarged (interpolated) to 4800x7200 before printing.

The camera was set at 6000x4000, and a very mild crop obviously brought the size down a bit. I've never interpolated an image, so I'll have to learn how to do it. To Costco's credit they did refund what I paid for the 20x30. I had never had any problems with previous 20x30s they did for me, and it could be that there was a malfunction in their system that day; the system was down completely the day before. I haven't tried any more 20x30s, but several similar images I since had them do in 16x20 came out with the same high quality I had experienced through the years. I hope the photo center stays open. Thanks again for your advice.

I've used Costco printing in its various forms since 1992 with excellent results - until recently. When I tried to order three 20x30 prints of shots from my D7200, with very minimal post processing, the in-store screen told me that in order to continue I would have to accept the prints in "low resolution." I cut the order back to one print to see what would happen, and the resulting print was terrible. Is cutting back on quality a step along the way to discontinuing the service?[/quote

I have tried to load larger files into the kiosks at Sam's and it will not take, however when that happens I have been able to give the media to the lab tech and they have been able to put it directly into the system on their computer that is used to operate the lab. Just a suggestion.
Thanks for the suggestion - I'll try that the next time.

Tariffs are great if you like Great Depressions (Smoot-Hawley) and Civil Wars (Morrill).

Both parks are spectacular, but if you trade one of your Yellowstone days for a short drive south to Grand Teton NP you'll never regret it.

Yes, we did get to Trummelbach Falls. They're truly spectacular, as is the entire Lauterbrunnen Valley. Thanks for your compliment.

Thanks for your comment. This was my first attempt at uploading photos to UHH, and I obviously must have done something wrong. I was disappointed to see that clicking on download didn't do much, and I'd appreciate any advice on how to correct the problem.
