Any ideas on the best way to generate an aperture/DOF chart for a prime lens?

Some of my old Nikon lenses have such a chart in the users manual but I can't seem to find one for a 58mm Voigtlander. It looks to be a pretty tedious exercise but it might be a good learning experience.

TIA

There is an app called “Digital DOF”

It is free and it will calculate DOF for any lens. You merely enter the type of camera, focal length of the lens, the aperture and the distance to the subject and voila you get near distance, far distance hyperfocal distance and how far in front and back of the subject that is in focus

My question has been answered. I just ordered a copy of elements. Have to keep the economy growing.

Thanks

I am creating triptychs that are 13” high and 57” long. I just did one from a panorama I took with my iPhone 8 and it came out to be an amazing set of pictures which I have n my bed room wall. I have another I made from an image I captured with my Nikon Z6 with a about 100 mm on a zoom lens. It looks good at any distance. I have been a photographer for 65 years and am well aware of resolution and viewing distance.

I am now using Photoshop, but cannot upgrade to the latest MacOS because Photoshop is not 64 bit based. So if elements can print any size print like photoshop I can get the latest elements and ditch my photoshop.

Thank you all for your responses

I have not yet switched to Catalina. So I plan on downloading and installing my present OS, Mojave, on A flash drive for use with the old 32 bit software. It will run slower, but it will work.

I had one lens replacement for long distance (right eye) and one for reading (left eye). I can see much better at night and have 20/20 vision for reading. The brain sorts it all out.

Ii is not for every one though. To see if it worked for me or if I got nauseous or something. I bought a pair of reading glasses and took the right lens out and wore them for many weeks before surgery.

The sky is blue once again and I can manually focus my camera when necessary.

Good luck with the operation.

Ignore the mat photo sizes that did not transfer at all well, sorry about that. I "leapt" before I looked.

I want to hang a triptych I created by cutting a panorama in to three A3 (13X19) prints. A week ago I asked for advice about coating the prints with a protective coating so I can mount them without glass. I also want to mount them without frames, just a stiff non warping backing. Does anyone have experience or suggestions hanging photographs this way?

Has anyone used any of the photo protectors that can be sprayed on inkjet printed digital photos? I want to mount some without frames and am looking for something to protect them from dust, fingerprints and UV rays I do not want to put them under glass.

Yup it is the live mode problem. I had set my Z6 to non live when I first used it. I just set it to live and the screen went black when I set shooting mode to manual.

I have a Z6 I purchased about two months ago. I do not know if this is a more recent model than yours or not. I have not had a problem with a black screen when in manual mode. Maybe it is a software problem, do you have the latest update?
