I want to hang a triptych I created by cutting a panorama in to three A3 (13X19) prints. A week ago I asked for advice about coating the prints with a protective coating so I can mount them without glass. I also want to mount them without frames, just a stiff non warping backing. Does anyone have experience or suggestions hanging photographs this way?

Check out YouTube for using acrylic, resin, varnish, or other sealant coats on photographs. Lots of good information on all these options.
Try hardboard from Home Depot. Very stable, stiff. Usually flat, smooth on one side, textured on the other.

I have used it successfully for many years, even for quite large prints. It is also called Untempered Masonite in some areas.

Yep, same stuff.
I used to mount paper prints on Masonite for AIA competition. Paper can so be mounted on Foamcore. You can also have prints made on metal or glass.

Styrofoam sheets come in sizes and thicknesses that you can cut to fit most needs. Craft shops will have a variety of coatings for most any type print.
I have been using Gatorplast lately. It’s like Gator board but the faces are plastic instead of paper so there is absolutely no warping. I print on glossy stock, then laminate with high gloss polyester film (Drytac) both sides of the print, round the corners, then mount on 3/16” Gator board cut about an inch and a half smaller than the print. A 3/4” stack of Gatorboard scraps at three places on the mount provide standoff and either VHB foam tape or Command strips for sticking to walls.
Look like metal prints, but with even wider color gamut.

Metal prints will do the job.

Have you thought about canvas prints?

Not sure about the coating, but I have used Nation's Photo Lab to make enlargements mounted on half-inch "Gatorboard" which is very stiff, won't warp, and yet is not very heavy. I then glue two 1x2" boards to the back and attach a wise between those for hanging. This projects the photos out from the wall and really makes them stand out nicely.
Standouts from Coda. Work great

WOW....almost the same technique I use. The two strips on the back lets the picture lay flat. I use a special clip that presses into the GB. When cutting the GB be sure your lines are straight and your knife is sharp. I precut to 5x7 and 8x10 as most of my pictures are printed in that size and buy the GB that has self adhesive backing. GB comes in black or white up here in Canada.
If you like Gatorboard, you will love Gatorplast. It cuts nicer, is even more warp proof, and a little cheaper.
