Hey, be easy, hehe. I still have and use, as many people do, one of those hand crank Victrola players....

Cool! I still have and use open reel tape deck,Spent way more having it electronically restored than I ever would on digital audio gear! But, I think it will be a while before DVD and Blu-Ray reaches that level of cool, right now, It's still mainstream. Not "cutting edge", but certainly not obsolete yet.

It's extremely humorous to me that this site is so full of folks that want to "own" their PP software but then claim that tangible media for their music, movies, and data are passe and obsolete.

I think the picture is becoming clear...

May I suggest uploading to YouTube and including the title (for searching) or link with the DVD so they can let grandparents, other family, friends, etc know by email, text or social media where they can also watch the team's 3rd place. DVD's are ok for an individual but are obsolete technology.

Can something be considered obsolete if it's still used by millions of people? DVD /Blu-ray is still pretty mainstream, Yet some people talk about them as though they are 78 RPM shellac records being played by a steel needle on a hand cranked Victorola.

ZIP files were originally designed to compressed collections of file. Encryption was added much later. I'm not even sure you can turn off compression. (Although some file don't get much smaller).

A PDF file is mostly (at least originally) essentially just a compress PostScript. PS is basically just a list of commands of how to draw a page (text and images) on a printer.

A .zip file is also compressed to make it smaller.

Even if compression wasn't a thing (and it is), A *.ZIP file is a convenient was to package up a bunch of unrelated filetypes (like the contents of an entire folder) and send it online as 1 file. This is a great way to make sure you get every file. A lot of software is distributed this way, most often using self extracting *.ZIP files.

I have lost my CD and would like to find another one, can anyone hlp me?

Perhaps You can download the files from the company's website. Or perhaps they sell replacements. Otherwise I'd check eBay, You'd be surprised what you can find there, I've found installation CDs for some long out of production hardware there before. Good luck with finding it.

Thank you so much for getting back to me with a great answer.

No Problem! As a collector and antique camera geek, I'm glad to hear that there is still interest in such things!

What is a falling plate camera. I have two 4X5 view cameras but have never heard of a falling plate camera.

Dennis

A falling plate camera uses a magazine to hold film plates, the plates are dropped after exposure (caused to fall) and a mechanism advances the next plate. This as opposed to loading plates in 1 at a time as one does on a view camera. Falling plate cameras have some type (usually reflex) finder, As the magazine is in the camera back, one can't view the "film plane" directly. Large format cameras today are all view cameras, But that wasn't always the case.

If the ID is spoofed, it's worthless.
(I've heard of people's caller ID showing their own number.)

I've got one with my own number before, but my favorite is this number I get often: (000) 000-0000 !

In Pittsburgh, While you see "sub" used in advertising (I blame TV), Most people call such a sandwich a "Hoagie" - Probably the thing Pittsburgh and Philadelphia agree on!

More of a risk removing card from camera and losing it. I also travel a lot and have never had a problem with cards going through multiple scanners. Same with laptop, smart phone, flash drives, and external hard drives. Now TSA personnel a different story ...
