First I heard such a rumor. I'd sooner give up photography than have to twist my lenses the wrong way.

I am an amateur photographer and not very familiar with the best ways to use on-camera flash. I have a canon r5 and a canon 430xrt speed light.
I shoot events for my Elks Lodge. The lighting is uneven and the ceilings are 15 ft high.
I have been bouncing the flash off the ceiling and getting acceptable results.
My question is would using a 9 x 11 inch on-flash diffuser give me better results?

I am never without my Lite-Scoop that fits on my Speedlight. Check it out on YouTube.

It's a good thing I don't have a camera that uses that card, otherwise I'd waste another $150.

I did a mountain gorilla trip in Rwanda and did use the 18-200mm for most of my photos! Worked great. It is an amazing experience being with them. Have a fantastic time!

I would like to find a very simple photo editing software program, on cd-rom for Mac computer. Really it has to be very simple program because I have mental block when it comes to computers. I don’t like email formats. I take photos of my family and friends and some landscapes, I just want to improve the quality of my photos and erase unwanted images. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have a Canon R7, and am thinking about adding a flash. I've been looking at the Godox V860 IIIc and the Yongnuo 600 EX-RT II. I'd also consider a Canon flash, such as the EL-5, but they're a good deal pricier than third-party flashes. However, I'm finding a lot of confusing info and reviews on the web, and I would welcome member's experiences in using flash on the R-series Canons. Here's some of the contradictory info:

- Some users say they get an ERR70 with the Godox, others don't.
- One review of the Canon El-5 says the AD-E1 shoe adapter is necessary, others don't mention it.
- The AD-E1 adapter provides weatherproofing and the ability to mount other devices like microphones. However, one article said it was needed for "full functionality," and mentioned it was needed for in-camera controls like flash exposure compensation. I don't know if that's true.
- Yongnuo highly rated for function but poorly rated for durability.

So, do you have a flash that's fully functional on your Canon R series? Any insight on the other questions?

Thanks,

Dan

I have a couple of questions related to using flash with a Canon R7.

The first pertains to the AD-E1 Multi-Function Shoe Adapter. Some of Canon's literature seems to imply you'll need the adapter to use legacy flashes with the camera due to electronic issues. Others online say no, if you don't care about weather sealing, you don't need it. Still others say that some weather-sealed flashes can't be physically mounted due to the rubber seal without the adapter. Which is it?

Second, has anyone successfully used a Yongnuo N600EX-RT II flash on an R7?

Watch as Sigma factory in Japan makes lenses, including their Sigma Art 24-70mm f2.8 DG DN lens, amazing process! Anyone else own Sigma lenses?

I own one and love it , it has stunning image quality, and superb build quality at an affordable price.

Cheers

I shoot Canon and my brother, after I had purchased my first DSLR, let me borrow his Canon 18:55 lens. I got used to it and saw the advantage over the kit lens. He wanted it back and reluctantly I returned it. Be bought for me the Sigma 17:50 2.8 lens. It is, over all the years my favorite lens. I shoot a lot of low-light events, some in small spaces and this lens is ideal. I have an adaptor and also use on my Canon mirrorless.

Back in the 1970s, I bought a Miranda Sensorex, and that was my sole camera (I think) until I bought the Nikon F Photomic. Today, I can't imagine having just one working camera. Do any of you have just one working camera?

I have 3 Canons (80D, 90D and SL2) and a Sony a6000. I shoot events and always take 2 cameras (one for backup). I was pleasantly surprised when I used the Sony for a pageant in a dark theater with a small speed light. It wasn’t a paid event and I didn’t feel like lugging a 90D or 80D.
