I would like to find a very simple photo editing software program, on cd-rom for Mac computer. Really it has to be very simple program because I have mental block when it comes to computers. I don’t like email formats. I take photos of my family and friends and some landscapes, I just want to improve the quality of my photos and erase unwanted images. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Your Mac comes with Apple Photos, and it is a pretty simple but effective program that does everything you asked for. Look at it first and see if it meets your needs.

Thanks, I have been using this program for a long time, but I would like to work with a program to be able to erase distractions off my main subject, adding more dramatic sky and ocean colors, improving facial blemishes and just a little more from Apple photos, and yet I’m too lazy to make an effort on one of the programs available with a little work. Thank you for your response.

If you are "too lazy" to learn another program then you are just SOL. What you want to do can be done relatively easy in LrC and/or Photoshop. But that can be a deep dive.

You want more than what a very simple editing program can do.
Why do you need it on CD-ROM? Most programs are just downloaded online.

Your program will probably need to deal with masks and layers. They are found in many programs, but there is a learning curve for all such programs.

You aren't going to find a simple program that does all you want it to do. Good luck. Thanks BE SAFE!!

Software is rarely shipped on CD-ROM anymore. It's too costly for the developers to burn, package, and ship. Thus, you are severely limiting your options if you make that a requirement. As for finding free or low cost photo editing software, it's not difficult to search sites like MacUpdate or Alternative To.

I was lucky! I took two photography classes at a local community college after work over a year. I went to learn how to be a better photographer, and learned Photoshop as an unintended result. The 18-22 year olds in the class were generous with just the right help at the right time. Not only my photography improved. I learned something about art and I received a new view on my own ideas about photography. If you are close to my age, you may find free tuition based on your age. Hope that you are in a position to try something like this, maybe even online?

You can buy Photoshop Elements on a CD often at Staples or Best Buy or from Amazon. It is quite powerful, but it will do all that you want. There is a learning curve, but you can use guided edits pretty easily.

Forget CD. Download. Free trial. Pixelmator Pro is the upgrade from this.

Nonresponsive. He asked for something on a CD. That is the question you should be answering.

Get rid of your mental block and learn how to use your computer. You may run into the problem, like so many users here do, of not being able to find your photos after you edit them.

If the Apple Photos software isn't enough, you might look into Affinity Photo. Unlike Photoshop, it's has a one-time purchase price rather than a monthly subscription. It's still as complex as Photoshop, though.

Sounds like you're looking for more advanced capabilities than Apple Photos offers. If so, you're simply going to have to put in the hours and effort to learn one of the better processing softwares. Or, you could simply wait until there's an AI photo finishing software available and simply ask it to, "make this photo look better."

I don't know if there are any more apps available on CD. Insisting on software on CD would severely limit the apps available, if there are any at all.
