I’m planning on a doors off helicopter tour next week on Kauai. I understand that changing lenses is a bad idea and probably not even allowed in flight. I have a Fuji XT3 (crop sensor) and my lenses are 10-24 & 50-140. Any thoughts on which of these would be the better choice?

I enjoyed a helicopter flight there recently. I took 2 cameras and let one camera down by the knees do a great deal of video recording and captured countless great photos with my other camera. I would think the 10-24 lens would be the better choice for more panoramic views. I would not want to change lens, especially with a doors off flight. I used a Canon SX60 for the video and a Canon T6i with the 18X55mm lens for individual captures. It was an amazing flight. Enjoy!

When I watch press conferences on t.v. I am very annoyed by the extreme noise created by the numerous SLR's. I own both a SLR and additional cameras with high megapixel capabilities. Is it possible for professional photographers to switch to a quiet camera and still get professional results? I know they are there to make a living but it is also a time when other modes of photography could use a quieter atmosphere to listen to what is being presented at these press conferences. I might also add, before someone else say it, ''sometimes we do not want to hear what is being reported".

You will love it and use it even when you already know the directions, just for the security.
After you have an address in, remember to save it to saved location. You can give it a name to help remember the Saved locations, if you have a large number of addresses.
Enjoy!

I carry one of those shower caps from the hotel and they work great on a temporary shower, plus they are easy to wrap around the camera and leave the front of the lens unobstructed.

I'm really sorry for bringing this issue up. My point was that UH is a photography forum and I still believe everything should be photography related. Yes, I read the category for Chit Chat so I know what it covers and with that, everyone can comment on these issues.
For me, I will do my best to read and comment about photography.

I thoroughly enjoy the UH photography forum. It give me opportunities to learn more about photography and share ideas.
About the only items that I do not like, come under the General Chit Chat forum when it gets into politics. Whether it is about our own government or world wide politics, I would rather UH followers stay out of this area. There are other sites that you can voice your opinions.
I love the jokes, pictures and stories that make us laugh so lets keep those things.
Is it possible to change the rules and eliminate the politics in this "photography Forum" site?
If there are large numbers of us who agree, let's let the editors or web site developers know.

I bought a very inexpensive OpTech harness for my SX40. It is perfect for vacation trips and also biking, keeping the camera in a good, safe location. It slides up on the straps when needed. I also purchased a couple of snaps so I can change back to my regular camera strap for other times, when the harness isn't needed.

I would like to know if I used music that I have purchased and use it as background music for a personal slideshow, such as iMovie, is it legal to use this without permission? I would use it strictly for my own personal use to share with friends and relatives only.

I recently toured the beautiful country of Scotland and was prepared for wet weather. Early, during my visit, I realized that those little shower caps at hotels make for an excellent emergency cover for my camera when the rain quickly surprises you. So next time if you want to be prepared for those spotty showers, bring along one of those little packets with the shower caps. The elastic band is also very helpful in keeping the cover in place over your camera.

Awesome time lapse photography. I don't think I have ever seen time lapse and panning at the same time. Great work Eric!

I couldn't be more pleased with my sx40. It has exceptional still and video capabilities. The zoom is fantastic also.

I recently attended a wedding and was upset with the professional photographers at the wedding. During the ceremony, one of the video photographers actually stood directly behind the groom, while the bride was walking down the aisle. (I mean inches from the back of the groom's head) It was very disruptive to the ceremony. The still photographer did much better. Sure, they will have great videos of the wedding, but is it necessary to be that close, with today's equipment? I would like to hear from some professional photographers opinions. Thanks

I have been enjoying reading UH for a long time and thought I would share just a little. Just went to Ireland and sending a photo from western Ireland overlooking the Atlantic. The other shot is flying home over Greenland. Glad that the pilot suggested we have a look out at that point.
I do have one book that I purchased and it has been the best "idea" book that I've found in a long time. It's "Digital Cameras & Photography for Dummies" Don't laugh, it's an excellent book, worth every penny. Thanks to everyone for making UH a great site to enjoy, share and gain knowledge of photography.
