I have no problem printing on my canon pro 10 printer from my MacBook Pro 14” m1. Perhaps you are using an old print driver. You can obtain a current driver from Canon. I annoy speak to your adobe problems as I use C1 and it works fine.

I will tell you what I told my customers many years ago when I sold cameras. The major brands all produce high quality images. Sony, Nikon, Canon, Fuji and others are all quality cameras. You should not make your choice by soliciting advice of others if you are choosing between quality brands. You are going to spend a great deal of money on the camera. Choose one that you feel comfortable with and will take along on all your adventures without hesitation. Go to a camera store and handle all of the cameras. Select the one that feels good in your hands and has a menu system and button selections that are easy for you to use. That is the one you will want to use regardless of the brand name.

I have been a member for a number of years. I no longer participate in many of their contests as I did not care about them. I offer some prints for sale, but have never sold any. I do like some of the feedback I receive from images I post. They host my web site, bweberphotographs.com. I like the design and it was very easy to setup and modify. Viewbug helped me obtain my own URL for the site and viewbug identity does not appear on the site. Viewbug tech support was helpful setting up the site. In addition, the designed and sold me a watermark at a very reasonable cost.

I use Backblaze for cloud backup, but a much simpler solution is to use a program like Carbon Copy Cloner to automatically back up everything, including your raw files, to an external hard drive. I schedule CCC to back up to an external hard drive daily. It backs up in the back ground, only backs up changes and does to interfere with anything else I am doing on my computer. In addition, I you are on a Mac, you can use Time machine to back up everything to anther hard drive. I use all three systems as I may be more careful than necessary.

Some reformatted external drives are formatted in as EXFAT when you purchase them. This format will connect to most MSDOS computers and apple computers. It cannot be read by Time Machine and some apple computers. You should reformat the drive as APFS. It will connect to your computer and if it appears on your desktop it will be backed up by Time Machine. You can reformat the drive by going to Utilities under the "Go menu" and then The Disk Utilities App. Identify the disk and then go to erase disk. It will ask you to name the disk and there will be a drop down menu for you to select the format type. Select APFS and start the process. I would go back the the place you purchased the disk and ask for help if the disk will not even appear on your desk top.

Don't replace it. I recently bought a new iMac and have nothing but trouble with it. It took 3 months to get it to work. Cannot use the current operating system. Never buy it from the Apple online store because if you take it to the Apple store for help, they will not help you. If you need another computer, buy from some other company, not apple.
well I purchased my MacBook Pro from apple on line, migrated all of files from a time machine hard drive and the only thing that took time was the migration process. The MacBook worked perfectly after the migration. The only thing I had to do was reenter my access code for C1 and my password for other apps.

My other camera is a Canon 5dsr and I had similar problems processing those 50MP full frame files. Although, I agree with you that the larger the photo files, the more work the computer has to do to process them.

I had a mid 2015 5K iMac with 32 gigs of ram that I had upgraded with an installed 1T ssd. I still found that it was slow when processing images using Capture One. My current camera is a Fuji GFX 100S with 100 MP files. So I figured every 7 years I should bite the bullet and upgrade. I traded the iMac for a new MacBook Pro 14" M1 with 32 Gigs. I also went all the way and purchased an LG 27" 5K monitor that connects directly into the lap top. The difference in processing photos is amazing. The M1 mac is fantastic. Go for it!

Phase One. Their sensor is a true 6 x 4.5 and has 150MP. The Fuji medium format sensor is smaller and has 100MP. The pixel count is not directly related to sensor size.

Most of the replies to this post were from people who do not use medium format cameras. They are simply presenting their reasons for avoiding medium format. I owned a Pentax 6x7 film camera and loved it. I purchased a Canon 5DSR when it first came out as it gave me images close to the Pentax. I recently upgraded to a Fiji GFX 100S, and I love it. The camera and Fuji lenses I purchased were not cheap, however, the images are spectacular. I shoot mostly landscapes with some portraits, I rarely shoot action. I generally do not print larger than 16 x 20. I did not move to medium format for large prints. I prefer it for two reasons. One is the ability seriously crop images that allows me to sometimes concentrate on specific parts of an image. In addition, and most important, the level of detail is wonderful and the subtle merging of different colors, as in a sunrise, are wonderful. The trade off in coast and weight is it worth to me.

Jim, I did not see the photo, however it probably was illegal in Massachusetts. G.L. c. 272 s. Section 29A. (a) states: "Whoever, either with knowledge that a person is a child under eighteen years of age or while in possession of such facts that he should have reason to know that such person is a child under eighteen years of age, and with lascivious intent, hires, coerces, solicits or entices, employs, procures, uses, causes, encourages, or knowingly permits such child to pose or be exhibited in a state of nudity, for the purpose of representation or reproduction in any visual material, shall be punished by imprisonment in the state prison for a term of not less than ten nor more than twenty years, or by a fine of not less than ten thousand nor more than fifty thousand dollars, or by both such fine and imprisonment. "
I have never seen a court attempt to define "lascivious intent", but I would not want to be the first case.

I have used a 5DSR since the camera was introduced. I used it for everything with very little problems. I use Canon "L" lenses, that I have purchased over time, as I do think you should use high quality lenses to obtain the best results from this sensor. Some time I shoot with a slightly higher shutter speed that I need for exposure. This is a wonderful camera. There is no reason to limit your used of it. I do not use the Canon much anymore as I recently upgraded to a Fuji GF 100S, a 100 mp medium format camera with built in stabilization. I kept the Canon for use with long lenses and I still shoot some portraits with it.
