Works great but takes forever to apply to the image and return to host application.

Your wishlist was also mine and I found the solution by switching to On1 Raw. It does all those things without having to send to Photoshop

My phone camera is backup and convenience only when I travel as I want to be able to see what I am shooting through a viewfinder. Especially in bright light, when seeing the view on a phone can be problematic. Also, there is a big delay when taking a photo with the phone versus using a good camera like my Canon 80D or Fuji X100f.

Am I the only one who feels this way?

At my club each image has a title that in effect does what the person who wants to talk wants to achieve. The title provides guidance for the judge that can affect how he or she views the image.

No question that Pro Show Gold is the gold standard for slide shows but it is costly. It does offer a free trial so see if it is what you need and compare it to Faststone free, which may be more than adequate for the your use.

Faststone Viewer is FREE and does a good slide show with transitions and music.

On1 Raw 2020 will do what Lightroom does and a lot of what Photoshop does, including layers and creative filters with masks. Importantly for you, it migrates you Lightroom edits into their DAM system. On sale now for a one time fee.

Fauxtography! What a great word to explain what a lot of photography has become. That is what a lot of Topaz offers - unique images. But most of the AI tools work well for what they are designed to do. That is, do what takes a lot of steps in Photoshop in one step.

The 200mm with the crop factor is 320 at f/4. Add the 1.4x and it becomes 450 at f/5.6. Should be enough especially considering the quality of the lens allowing cropping.

I think you will need the reach of a 70-200mm or a 70-300mm lens. When I was on small boat cruise in Alaska over 50% of my images were taken with my 70-200mm and about 15% with my 300mm plus a 1.4x tc.

Make sure you are taking dry bags or similar such items to protect your photo gear from the elements when shooting outside. And you might need ziplock bags to prevent fogging of lenses and cameras as you move from outdoors to indoors and vice versa.

If you want one camera with a fixed zoom lens, check out the Sony Cybershot RX 10 IV. Lens range is 24-600mm 35mm equivalent

I am taking the advice of so many of you and taking the 24 mp Canon 80D with the 70-200 mm f/4 L and a 1.4x teleconverter for reach. But rather than lug around extra lenses that require change on the go, I will have my 24 mp Fuji X100F with a 35mm f/2 full frame basis lens in my jacket pocket for the wider images. And use the smaller X100F for walk-around images. Now all I need is good weather.

As I do not have to fly and can take all my cameras on the boat, I will do that. Then I can decide what to use when depending upon what I see and what the weather allows. Moral of the story, following some of the good advice I have received above, is be prepared. So I will do so.

Leaving next Monday on a 16 day cruise from New York to Greenland with nine days at sea. While I can imagine a use for my heavy Canon 80D with a 70-200 mm f/4 L lens and a 1.4x teleconverter, it will be limited. Probably some shots from the ship and maybe on a small boat on a wildlife cruise.

So I am wondering if just taking my 35 mm, 24 mp, APS-C X100F using the 50 mm and 70 mm JPEG options when needed is adequate for the three city stops and three Greenland stops. I will also take my beloved 12 MP X30 with a 28-112 mm lens for backup and maybe reach. Thoughts?

Lightroom 5.7 is antiquated compared to the current versions available under creative cloud. On1 Raw 2019 combines most of the capability of Lightroom with much of the capability of Photoshop, including layers and many other features for creative editing. And it is much easier to use for most editing than Photoshop.

Whatever you do, Lightroom 5.7 should become ancient history.

Yes. It has a Persona (module) for that. Open automatically any raw image.
