I mainly use my Fujifilm X-T1 or X-T2 these days. They are both light with either the 23 f2 or 35 f2. When I go to our nearby Woodbridge or Cosumnes Preserves, I use the Nikon D500 with a Tamron 150-600 lens. I practically cringe having to lift up that combination.
This is a wonderful set of images. I have seen many images of two of the barns from every possible angle, but these are in a class by themselves. I now know what the areas around the homesteads look like. Thank you for these excellent images.
Thank you. All of these years I had it wrong.
Small point. Google mentions "Guildford" Courthouse when I looked it up after looking at headline.
Great description of the functions of the steam engine. We live in Sacramento and I have visited the CA Train Museum a number of times. On my next visit I will have to pay more attention and look for the items you mentioned.
I subscribe to the digital version of Arizona Highways through Zinio.com. I can look at the magazine anywhere there is WiFi available.
Most of my images end up being projected in club competitions or reduced in size and viewed on a monitor. The few times I have printed anything, Costco did the job to my satisfaction. My images captured with my original digital camera, an Olympus with 3.3 MP, still look very good. I now use a Nikon D300 and don't really need all of those pixels, but the lens quality really produces very good images.
See Thom Hogan site :
www.bythom.com and look for the item for June 28, 2012. Also go to Nikon site Support and look for firmware update.
You have to download the extractor file and copy to a new folder on desktop, F-D7000-V103W. This will create a folder called "Nikon" on the desktop with file NKLD010056.BIN. This is the file copied to the memory card, and used to update the firmware.
This involves all DSLR's above D300

For all of you who have all four volumes, is there any advantage to buying / reading sequentially?
I have Kelby's LR3 book. Love his style, so I'm sure I'd get into the Digital Photography series too.
On one of his broadcasts, he mentioned that each book builds on the previous book(s). They are not just merely reprints with added content. I have his Photoshop and Lightroom books and value them greatly.
Wonderful images. I really like the bokeh with the sharp focus on the birds. Did you use a flash on two of the images?
Thank You. I first thought a seagull was approaching. When I looked through the 300mm lens I realized it was an Eagle, so I started to pan with the motion. That was the only shot I made, and was very lucky to get it.
Nice image of the birds, especially the Bokeh. I am realizing that if I can't fill the image with the lens, I should avoid taking the shot. I used to crop the image to achieve a look of closeness, but the quality is not what I am seeking.
I captured this image of a Bald Eagle at the Anchorage Zoo, there was just the bars in the way to obscure the view.

Hello,
I got this image in Kodiak harbor while standing on the cruise ship looking back to Kodiak harbor.
