Glad it wasn't me..

I don't have any zoos or wildlife parks around; so even finding wildlife or birds is a chore..
I do like to go to Alaska every year just for the photography... (caveat: I am not a bird shooter so I don't have any long lenses by birder standards)

The Cedar Waxwing is the most beautiful bird I have ever, ever seen besides an Eagle...A whole flock of them is just awesome...Great shot....Linda...
Some very nice bird photos posted here.
Larry, yours seem to be just a little bit oversaturated.
I am envious of your AK trips, that is on my bucket list.

Hey, does anyone know about that purple edging around some of the twigs and blossoms in my photo? Not sure how or why that happened.
The eagle picture was great,Alaska is a shooters deam

Purple Fringing is chromatic aberration (CA) and results from a lens being unable to discern a clear color line at the edges..
Many editing software suites can repair it..

Larry were you hand holding your camera when you captured this? I would imagine you were but it makes me wonder how the eagle turned out so clear. I know it would have been one big blur if I had shot that picture but I can't imagine how you would get a shot like that with a tripod. I'm pretty new so I'm still trying to understand this...

Yes, the shot was hand-held as I was on a moving boat at the time. (we did, of course, slow down for photographs) I was using a Canon 300mm f4L IS, with a 1.4 converter.. If I had been using a lens without IS, the shot would have been much more difficult..
Hello,
I got this image in Kodiak harbor while standing on the cruise ship looking back to Kodiak harbor.
