Probably for the same reason I have a 35mm and 4x5. Two different formats with different results.

A blurry shot from pro photographer Don Roos who is in Tokyo covering the Olympics. At least at this venue, there were far more Sony and Canon cameras and lenses in use than Nikon or other brands. So what? Sony lenses have the "G" on them. Black "G" for G lenses, and red "G" for G-Master lenses. Again, so what? And every Sony camera in use is mirrorless. Again, so what, they don't take any better photos than any of my Nikon full frame bodies or pro lenses, sure I've used Canon and Sony and they are also good. And remember all Associated Press staff photographers worldwide use Sony gear exclusively. Photo by Don Roos.
A blurry shot from pro photographer Don Roos... (show quote)

Why should I remember that all AP chimps use a certain brand exclusively, it doesn't affect anything I do. I can afford any system, or number of systems I want but Canon and Sony aren't that interesting. Like I said, the photo is really blurry as I noted above, must have been using his go to camera, a phone. It's the photographer, not the camera body or lens that makes the difference. I have a RRS TVC-34L tripod and used the Wimberly gymbal with the 800mm f/5.6 lens (I have rented this lens several times, including once for Yellowstone in winter). What you really should look into is a long lens stabilizer so you can attach this lens at two points not just one. The one I bought is no longer manufactured but I believe RRS has one. When you shoot with the 800mm lens and its 1.2TC any slight vibration from wind, etc is amplified.

I have the same combination of tripod and gimbal but also use a Gitzo 4532 3-section monopod with the gimbal for motorsports with 400 and 600mm lenses.

If you go with the Nikon EN-EL18c battery, cover and charger, that will run you about $550. Plus add to the weight of the camera. A much cheaper option is to carry spare EN-EL15b batteries in your pocket?

I picked up both my MB-D17 and MB-D18 new in the box for $225 EA., one had a BL-25 with it and found two (2) EN-EL 18 batteries (a B and a C) on fredmiranda.com with battery ages of 0 for $80 EA. Didn't need the charger since I already had one.

There are quite a few good shows on History, ID, H&I, TCM and a couple of others. As long as you avoid the liberal leftist channels and shows it's pretty good.

Agreed!

Sorry but he isn't missing the point. Some people just have to be told what and when do things. They have to be led around by the nose for even the simplest tasks.

To my way of thinking this is still America. Americans are plenty capable of doing things on our own when necessary. We don't need no stinkin government telling us how to buy toilet paper or when.

Do we really need a Socialist to buy toilet paper for hospitals? Check out Socialist countries. No toilet paper around to be had.

States have leaders too. We call them Governors. Let them order toilet paper. My wife ordered some from Walmart and it was delivered. If she can do it surely we don't need the federal government to order things like that.

Review history. we have the best leadership at the federal level than we have ever had. I just retired from 30+years in health care. Worked in Major hospitals and their clinics.
It is the LOCAL hospitals responsibility to make sure they are stocked and prepared for the worst. Hospitals fall under the local, city, county and state jurisdictions. Not the Feds !
I have worked through enough crisis's in my career and have never seen a Federal response as aggressive and QUICK to act than this current Prez and his troops. Not to be political, just stating the facts from a guy who has been there, seen it, lived it.
If you do not like the current President, and obviously you do not. Kindly Please keep your insults in the attic.

Well, let’s see; you mentioned 10,000 ventilators at least 4 times in your diatribe against Trump. You do know that Congress is involved in making decisions concerning our country, do you not? But, The House of Representatives were so concerned about getting Trump out of office they couldn’t get anything else done. (We don’t need to get into how the House broke laws in their actions against Trump.). That said, when the leaders of the Dems in the House finally got involved in a bill concerning the v***s, they couldn’t concentrate on the v***s with it’s urgency. They had to hold things up with provisions for pork barrel items such as increasing funds for NPR, solar & wind energy, & certain libraries, etc. instead of just concentrating on v***s mitigation & trying to stabilize the economy; which , by the way, helps ordinary citizens to be able to pay bills & survive economically.
By the way, I have in the past v**ed for Democrats I figured were better suited for an elective office.
