At this age I think we are all guessing what will work, but just as a different way of looking at it. I went to Facebook Marketplace and typed in Iphone and put a max limit of $60. A bunch popped up starting at $25. I don't use an Iphone but I will assume it works like most old phones that are out of service. Camera still can take pics and the wifi still connects to my home, and the usb cable still downloads. So you might give that a thought, an old Iphone for 25-50 dollars will still give them the enjoyment of taking pics just like the old folks. And in my granddaughters case she loves to just sit on the coach and flip through the photos on the phone as much as taking them. Oh, one thing most of the phones will still dial 911 even when out of service so be sure to set it for Airplane mode. If you can find an old one that is unlocked for carriers, then later on it can be their first phone by setting them up with a prepaid card to someplace like Tracphone, and that new Mint service is only 15 a month so you could get a lot of use that why also.

I used
https://www.wix.com/
they give you a free webpage, but they generate the website name for you on the free one.
but it was very easy to create a webpage.
If you have to have a special domain name I don't know what they charge but if you live with they're name
then it was a good site for free.
You might ask them before you start how it works with you uploading new Pics all the time first though.
As far as there long name they give you.
You could always create a QR code image for it to pass around and just scanning that would take them to your page.
I also like Flicker, it's been great for checking out photos taken with cameras and lens that I have been looking at to see how they produce.

I think that might help. I'm also trying to learn the Fisheye-Hemi software. Have you had any experience with that?

Bill

no, nothing else, I had just got my lens when 2020 hit us, and it has been sitting since

I tried to drag an 8mm image from my desk top, onto the white box, but only the 'title' of the file appeared at the top. Am I missing something?

It seems the program prefers the Google Chrome browser to work right. I have tried other browsers and most don't load the picture right I also was using Jpeg, hope that helps

I picked up an 8 mm awhile back and had just started getting to know it before things went south with 2020.
So I have also been thinking about getting it out again to start over on the learning curve.
One of the sites I found interesting is:
https://jywarren.github.io/fisheyegl/example/#a=1&b=1&Fx=0&Fy=0&scale=1.5&x=1&y=1

put a photo on your desktop and drag and drop it onto the web page and you can change any degree you want to remove the complete fisheye or add to it without cropping. Interesting enough I think you could take a regular photo and make it a fisheye printout so you wouldn't even need a fisheye lens to get the effect.

It's open source and implies that you can up and download settings by lens type if someone has already played with the same lens you have. I never got a chance to really play with the site but kept it because it looked promising.

I build and tear down computers for fun and the last few years I have used " Mini Tool Partition Wizard " there is a pro version but i have always used the free version it does pretty much anything you need. it will add a drive letter to your drive and even change it to any drive letter you want so it always stays. I set W, X, Y, and Z for my external drives so no matter where I plug them in the drive letter stays the same. Of course it will delete and create new partitions for you and change the file type, and even let you make that 4 tb into four separate 1 tb drives with different drive letters. It will even look for old partitions that you lost and rebuild then, plus a lot more.

When I load pictures on to the SD card for the frames I always create sub-directories for each set of family photos I put on it. that way they always play the photos from each family together even if it randomizes the directories.

I do not have a copier. So I have to take a picture of the document an d print as a photo, of course on standard white paper.
How do I convert this from photo to document?

I use this online program all the time, it converts everything I have ever needed
https://www.online-convert.com

I also take pictures of documents because I don't have a printer scanner, but I use my cell phone camera with a program from the play store called " simple scanner", my boss has an Iphone and she has a free scanner program for it also. Once scanned you can save it as a PDF and sent it to your email and if you need to edit it just drop the file into the online converting program.

Looks like Goodwill is getting into the online market. My local store has taken out a lot of the special items out of the store and put on the web, and I noticed there are now several different Goodwill shopping websites.
This one seems to have a few nice FD lens scattered through it, and some not so pretty that may or may not clean up, but some of the prices are pretty cheap.

canon website has the PowerShot SX60 HS Refurbished for 322.99 with one year warranty.
As well as new for 429.99
Refurbished units don't stick around long of course because there is a limited amount and I am not sure if that is a regular sale price or
a cyber monday price
it's always good to check out their refurbished site now and then because you never know what they will have in stock and what price they're clearing them out for. Lens as well as cameras.
It's nice that they give you a canon 1 year warranty with them.
