Look at the right sidebar of Aperture. There is an option about not downloading duplicates. Uncheck it.

Nice pose but a lot of halo and noise. What was the ISO, And how much did you crop?

(This is hijacking the topic a bit -apologies to hb3)

The birds are out all day at Ding, but the light is always best early in the morning. Common sightings are Great Egrets, Snowy Egrets, Little Blue Herons, Night Herons, Wood Storks, White Ibises, Brown Pelicans, White Pelicans, and a variety of ducks. I found no Roseate Spoonbills and very few warblers this year. Ducks are plentiful, and I enjoyed photographing the tree crabs, too. Bring a solid tripod!

Beautiful!
The wife and I are headed for Sanibel Island day-after-tomorrow.
I intend to spend a lot of time at Ding Darling trying out my new 60d outfit.

I was at Ding Darling yesterday, and ran into a photo pro who told me a bobcat has been seen on the Bailey Tract several times in the past two years. Also, an immature alligator has been very visible in Airplane Canal lately, both on shore and floating just under the surface. Keep an eye out!

Can you believe they took this to a jury trial?

The Sigma 10-20 is my favorite outdoor lens. It's quality and versatility are outstanding.

Lateral thinking games and puzzle books have had this question, and similar questions, in them for many years. I suspect this is a more valid test of the ability to think out of the box than it is of psychopathology.

My choice is apparently unconventional. I bought a Canon M with an EF/EF-S lens adapter, so I use my existing lenses on it. Mostly I have my Canon 18-200 mm on it. The camera looks a little like a rear lens cap when paired with a large lens, but I really enjoy the combo. Also, the 18-55 mm that came with the M is incredibly sharp and very compact. My experience is that it is as sharp and fast as the L series equivalent. Finally, the touch-screen shutter allows me to handhold longer shutter speeds than I can with my 7D.

Only real drawback is that shooting in live view all the time drains the battery pretty fast, so I have two spare batteries.

Be aware that the $9.99 price does not apply if your current Photoshop is a student version.

I still prefer a single, simple home backup drive and Carbonite, for simplicity and the ability to access my files no matter where I am.

Remarkable, evocative shot. I admire you for being able to make it. I was at Dachau a few years ago and could not make myself go in.

I have the Canon 100-400 and really like it. I have not tried the "Sigmonster" (I think that is its nickname) so I cannot compare, but I have no trouble carrying or aiming the Canon 100-400, and the push-pull zoom makes it very easy to find the bird, zoom in, and compose the shot. I find it easier to use and sharper than my Canon 70-300 (that I rarely use any more) with a 1.4 Kenko teleconverter. Just my own opinion here, no hard facts to back it up.

Evocative shots! I have been to Door County many times, but only a couple of times during autumn color. I especially like the winding road photo!

I sell frames images on a regular basis and always include the title. My preferred current format is to have a white canvas surround with a 5 pixel black keyline. Below the keyline on left have in a tiny font the title. I then sign in pencil on right on mountboard with my name. I am asked a lot to sign the image. Hope that helps.

I can't visualize this. Are you able to post an example?

I suggest rating all your shots as soon as they are downloaded to your laptop. Delete the bad ones and move all remaining shots less than 5 stars onto the external drive. Leave only the 5 star shots on the laptop and work with them there.
