Remarkable, evocative shot. I admire you for being able to make it. I was at Dachau a few years ago and could not make myself go in.

My great grand parents and family died there I have been to the other camps as a memorial and pay respect to those who were executed at them but never been to Poland I was in the military and couldnt go for me this is a very somber picture since I know my family spent there last moments there

I am so sorry to hear that, it was a tragic period in world history. Just curious, why couldn't you go to Poland?

I lost many family members there and find it difficult to view these photos and watch movies about it. I think your photo captures the coldness of that place.

Ideally, a photograph should have a subject, tell a story and evoke an emotion. Yours did all of that and more. Great photograph - tragic chapter in the history of mankind.

I was in the army and at the time of the cold war we were not permitted into a communist country without special permission and it was to much hassle with the security clearance I had. My wife and I are planning a trip to go as soon as the funds are available

We use to call it the U.S Army I m not sure its the same anymore the way the country has turned with the people running it. I gave 20yrs of my life to defend this country against all enemies foreign and domestic and we have more domestic enemies now than ever before Im also 100 per cent disabled doing it and Im not complaining one bit I woukd do it all over again
