Hello Micki great photos. Good to see you again. I love your squirrel. Been on and off here, not as busy as you are but doing some art style photos. Always wondering how things are going with you. Take care!

I got lucky and had 5 photos place in the ND water magazine photo contest. Each photo has to be taken in ND and have in some form of water in it.

Really excellent pictures, great work!

Spent several hours at Longwood Gardens on Tuesday. Not terribly hot, mixed sun and clouds. One of the places I never fail to visit is the water lily pond. It is surrounded by the 4 acre indoor conservatory. Several years ago I heard one of the workers explaining to someone that a black dye is added to the water to hide the tubing etc. Will be posting more Longwood photos from the orchid room, some of the outdoor areas and any others that look interesting.

Good to see your pics. Been busy so I usually just glance and go these days. I attended Eastern Baptist Seminary at Lancaster and City Line Aves. Took a couple of classes at St Charles Boromoe(so?). Also min at Andover Newton Theological School. Grew up in Brockton. Retired Presbyterian Clergy. Doing lots of contemplative photography. Loved Longwood Gardens, haven't been there for years. Great work!

Its been a while, the past few months have been hectic. We shifted house to our new home. The new factory construction is almost completed and we are trying to beat the monsoon, which is expected around mid June.

On the photography front. I sold my D7100 and got the D7200, which I love and will post some images from it soon.

It feels nice to be back on UHH.

Here are a mix of images, some recent, some past.

Glad to see you're back. Hope your move to new house goes quickly before monsoon. I'm still using d7000, going well. Busy creating some art, taking a year long photography course.
Great pictures as usual!
How's the leg?

Thanks for the memories. I use to work at the Old State House back in 1964 when I was in High School. Nice photos.

Have you ever visited the Brandywine River Museum in (I think) Media, PA? An old round barn was converted into the museum focusing on the Wyeth family. Splendid location too just of US Rt 1 about 30 miles south of Philadelphia. Not far from Longwood Gardens, the old Dupont Estate.

Yes we've been there a few times, especially to see Andrew Wyeth's work. Have some photos somewhere. My website has some contemplative photos if you go to albums you can find a few.

Thanks for the comments. Who ran the workshop on contemplative photography? Would like to know more about that. I use a lot of photos when giving retreats, days or recollection or conferences. A year ago I did my final vow retreat within the enclosure at the Trappist house in Spencer, MA. I hope to return to Regina Laudis.

Sounds good. I led the retreat on "Contemplative Photography" we spent a month at Cape Cod this fall, enjoyed the Museum of Art and Andrew Wyeth's paintings.

Just finished my annual eight-day retreat at the Abbey of Regina Laudis in Bethlehem, CT serving as chaplain for Mass. It is a cloistered monastery where approximately 40 Benedictine nuns live the Benedictine motto: "Ora et labora", work and prayer.

The monastery was founded in the late 1940's and grew over the years. It sits on 400 acres of forested land. The nuns make cheese, farm, have a herd of milk cattle and a small herd of sheep for wool.

The nuns, who range in age from the mid-20's to over 80, gather seven times daily for prayer either in the monastery church or in the chapel that is within the main monastery. While there I celebrated Mass using the novus ordo chanted in Latin in traditional Gregorian chant.

The land is beautiful. Quite a bit of it is outside the enclosure and thus accessible to those not in the community. This is the first of what will probably be several sets of photos.

Nice photos Fr Jack. Lived in Willimantic, Ct for ten years...in the 70's& 80's. Just finished a workshop on "Contemplative Photography down near Corning, NY. I live in Syracuse and we have the Stella Maris Retreat Center right nearby in Skaneateles. I used to go to the Mercy Center in Madison, Ct. Met Henri Nouwen there a few times and met with Pierre Wolfe as Spiritual Director for a few years.

A scenic hiking area in Zhejiang Province China. A selection of photos of some rural people and scenes from the hike. Picture 3 was included to show the context of the setting. The last picture proves why the two hour hike up the mountain was worth it.

There is only thing left to try which I found on the Adobe website:

Windows Vista and Windows 7

1.Exit Photoshop Lightroom.
2.Choose Start > Control Panel > Color Management.
3.In the Profiles Associated With This Device field, select the default monitor profile.
4.Click Remove.

Note: If multiple monitor profiles are listed, it is sometimes necessary to repeat the procedure for each one. Launch Photoshop Lightroom and test to see if the problem is resolved. If it isn't, return to the Display Settings and remove the next profile in the list.

Additional Information
Windows Vista and Windows 7 include the Microsoft Windows Color System (WCS), an OS-level color management platform that uses a unique color profile format. Using Photoshop Lightroom 1.2 or later is required for Lightroom to use WCS profiles.

The monitor profile (also called a color profile or ICC profile) tells your computer's video display card how to accurately display color on your specific monitor. If the profile is damaged, the image data that Photoshop Lightroom sends to the video display card can be corrupted before reaching the monitor. As a result, the photos don't appear. A monitor profile is not required for your monitor to function, but using one is highly recommended.

If the profile you were using was damaged, and it was supplied by the monitor manufacturer, try replacing the file with a new copy. The color profile could have been provided on a CD that came with the monitor. It's also possible that you can download it from the manufacturer's website. Open the C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\color directory, delete the old profile, and copy the new profile into the same directory. Then open the display color management settings through the Control Panel (as in Solution 3 above) and add the profile to the monitor.

If you created a custom profile using a monitor calibration tool or software and it's damaged, create a profile using that tool. (It is highly recommended that you create a custom profile for your computer and monitor rather than using the profile supplied by the manufacturer. More information about the benefits of profiling your monitor can be found in the Working With Color Profiles and Color Management topics of Creative Suite Community Help.)

Searcher,
Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. Nothing has helped, but as I'm still on vacation for tow weeks and away from my resources at home I'll see what can be done then. I need lightroom to lead an 8 hour workshop and was hoping to restore it before I returned. I did notice lightroom 6 was coming out soon, maybe that's a possibility. Thanks again for your help, time, and interest.

Whilst the above measures are still checking the catalogue integrity, there is something else you should check.

All programs off
Control Panel > Colour Management > Advanced tab

Device Profile - change it using the drop down to "sRGB IEC61966-2.1"

Searcher I changed the color management advanced tab from spyder4 to your recommendation. There are No Other recent recent catalogues. There are 21 empty sections which I have written Dow if you need them, the others are full.

That is not correct, if you import the picture files using any software and the files are on your disc, they can be imported into Lightroom. Obviously they cannot be imported from another propriety catalogue, but the files will be on your hard drive.

Searcher I've tried your suggestion and after four hours nothing happened. I aslo tried to erase and download lightroom again, same thing happened again. So I'm not sure what to do next.
