I too have used DSLRs for a long time and have been thinking of upgrading to a full frame camera. Went on a trip and brought with me an Olympus OMD E M-1 with professional lenses. I would be hard pressed to think I could have gotten better results with a FF DSLR. I'm not a professional so my needs may be different. I'm planning a trip to Alaska and guess what- taking the Olympus. Not much use for the big weighty Nikon. Don't think I'll be upgrading to a full frame anytime soon.
Just pick up an FX camera. Weight and size differences are real but not really significant. If you're worried about weight pick up a mirrorless camera. The Olympus or Fuji. That's the way to go n
Nikon D750 is a great camera. And not as heavy as the others.
How do you spell college?
Here's how I look at it. Forget the free stuff because as you said film isn't free. First of all it's fun to be able to get instant feedback on your pic so you can see what you've done and what you may be able to do better AT THAT MOMENT. Film- forget it. Creativity is off the chart with digital. Film doesn't even come close. Lastly you can ride in a car to get where you're going or you can ride a horse. Granted there are some people who will choose the horse but me I'm taking the car. It's time to let go and move into the 21st century.
Just got back from a trip to Europe. Took my em-1. Used the 12-40 99% of the time sharp great detail. Super lens.
Great lens. Great people at Berger Bros. Can't go wrong.
I have thought about that. A full frame sensor is important and getting a camera with dedicated buttons requires purchasing the 810. It's all about priorities.
The AF system is brilliant. That alone justifies the cost.
I'm in the same position except I have a D300. The 810 is more camera than I'll ever need. Besides it's just to heavy to schlep around. My choice is the D750. It is one of the best cameras nikon has made. How many megapixels do you really need?
Nikon 17-35 , 2.8. Super lens but heavy and pricey.
Buy the nikon. Great lens. Forget the others. Then add the nikon 24-70 2.8. It's fantastic and sits on my camera most of the time. Another great nikon lens is the 17-35. As noted above long focal length lens is another story.
Humans will go the way of the Blue Footed Booby
I don't care how hot it wasn't- your crotch is not a cup holder. End of story. When are we going to hold people responsible for their actions instead of having to blame someone else unless of course we want to be treated like infants incapable of making any decisions.
