Suggestions for Nikon FX glass for my refurb D610

I bought a refurb D7100 and my girlfriend now has a D7100. She also took my 18-55 and my 55-200 kit lenses that came with my D3200. She loves 'her' camera! I just ordered a refurb D610 from B&H and it shipped this morning which will leave me with an excellent camera and no wide to medium focal lengths for it. I do have a Sigma 70-300 that I can use along with my Nikon 300mm f/4 AF-s and my Nikon 500mm f/4P.
My budget is roughly $1000 for some new glass. I prefer fixed focal lengths, f/1.8 is plenty fast enough for me, but I will consider another zoom if it offers sharp, quality images.
I could use some advice on lenses for me to investigate, I prefer Nikon glass but am open to other brands. Thank you!

I have a D610 and the 20 f/2.8D, 35 f/2D, 50 f/1.4D and 85 f/1.8D mm primes and they all work well for me. Have fun with your new FF toy and post some of your photos.

You'll love the camera.
I do recommend Nikon 28-300, as a walk around. I also have Tamron 24-70 (f/2.8), Tamron 70-200 (f/2.8), Nikon 50 (f/1.8).
Good luck with your new camera.

I always use this source when purchasing lenses. The 85mm 1.8 G. Has the best rating of all lenses.

Thank you, Chase4. I am writing all of these down to look into.

I love my D3200, I know I will love the D610! So much to learn. I will take a look at the 28-300 and I already have the 50 f/1.8 very high on my list!

I recommend one of two lenses (or both depending on what you shoot at).

(1) AF-S NIKKOR 24-120mm f/4G ED VR, $1300 new, $900 refurb.
It's f4 but it's a constant f4 through the focal range. D610 is pretty good in low light.

(2) AF-S NIKKOR 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR, $1050 new, $780 refurb.
About the same price, more versatile. Not quite as sharp, but it's a 10.7X zoom. This was the first lens I got for my FX adventure and I have not regretted it.

Thank you, Fairway Photos and Odd Jobber. I guess I should have mentioned that I need a faster lens for the grand kid's school activities where they won't allow us to use a flash. But I am going to look into these zooms and keep them on the list. I need to see how the D610 does at the higher ISO settings, have heard and read great things!

Good thing it's rainy here in northern Colorado today... I have a lot of reading and investigating to do now! Thank you, Jerry!

While looking at lenses, I came across the Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8. It comes highly recommended and even though a used one is slightly over what I planned on spending, I may go with it to fit in with my other lenses seamlessly on focal lengths. It is about $1400 used from several reputable places. Would this be a good choice?

Just to give you an alternative - I got the previous "Nikon's Best," the 35-70 f/2.8 for a little over $300. Great lens in excellent condition. Then I looked on the KEH site and bought brand new (new old stock) Nikon 80-200mm f/2.8 for $600+. I got both lenses for under $1,000. I don't have that extra bit of wide angle, and I don't have VR, but I saved $3,000 on those two lenses.

I am looking at that lens now on Ken Rockwell's site, is it a push/pull lens? That is an incredible savings!
