It has been well established that the 14-24 is a great lens. If you can afford it, you will be hard pressed to find a reason not to buy it.

Just Beautiful........, question, how do you like the fact, that the Nikon 14- 24 2.8 zoom cannot take any filters,.as so how do you protect your lens....??

I have this lens and it is one of, if not the sharpest lens Nikon has ever made. There are filters out there for this lens. Look up Lee for one manufacture, or go on you-tube and search for filters for the 14-24.

Thanks Juice Squeezer!!......I"ve done that on both Amazon and B & H photo.....and I do see their are 3rd party alternitives to the filter issue, of this lens....

Everything I have read about the 14-24 indicates it belongs in the Trinity. I chose the 16-35 simply because is uses conventional filters. There was no way I wanted to be messing with Lee filters, holders, etc. and I like a clear filter protecting the front element of all my lenses when I'm not using a CP or ND filter. ;)

its a non issue because you don't want a filter between you and the subject on most shots.
On the other hand, when a ND or polarizer is required, the inconvenience of a Lee filter setup will be worth it.
