I know your using a Nikon, but I have the Sigma 150/500 on My Canon and love it. Have not had any trouble it.
What really surprised Me was the weight (Don't know the exact weight) it's NOT as heavy as it looks like it would be.
A Sigma 150/500. Love it so far.
I have 2 canon printers, a MX922 that I use for pretty much everything - VERY good photographs up to and including 8x10's for larger I use a Pro 9000. I'm very happy with both printers, the only complain I have is that some of the ink for the Pro 9000 I can't buy locally and have to order it from Canon.
While on a Canon, I use a Sigma 70/200 2.8 and can't say enough about it. I generally use it for sprint car races and the detail is awesome at speed. I also use the Sigma 17/70 2.8 for closeups and flowers and such. Doubt I'll every buy any other brand of lenses.
My Relationship goes back about 40 years ago, I had a Yashica (been so long I don't even remember how to spell it) it was stolen along with about 6 lens, when I got my insurance money and went to replace it the the guy at the camera shop did not want to sell Me a Nikon - told Me I wasn't good enough for a Nikon and I would be better off with a Canon. So now I feel that Nikon is not good enough for ME.

I always create a new folder then transfer to the new folder then rename the folder with the subject name and then the date and then do the same with the photographs inside the folder.
I have the Cokin system and like what I have. Have had problems the past year or two getting the filters I thought I needed.
I've done the Ledges a couple of times (Summer and Fall) awesome. Jester is nice also, unless the buffalo and elk are laying down in the high grass in a low spot. During the winter the eagles along the river just south of the capital can be awesome to watch.
I'd love to find some old buildings especially barns.
