I'm currently using this camera with a GODOX TT680 Thinklite. I want to get the flash off camera. As I understand it, the 6D MK ii doesn't support off camera flash unless you use a flash trigger of some kind. Trouble is, I cant seem to locate a trigger in NZ that will work with this camera/flash combination. Is there anyone on the Hog using such a setup and can you tell me just what works for you?

I'm about to begin a new project for a car club recording vehicle data and, hopefully, a photo of each. The fallback is MS Access (I have version 2007). I'm asking if any of you have another product suggestion I should consider? For a bit of framework, the number of cars is in the hundreds and I'm guessing 12 to 15 fields for each. Sorting data will be necessary as will updating DB information on a regular basis.

I have been experimenting with a FREE cloud based Database suite called Airtable. You can use it up to a certain size free and if you wish to extend it, you can pay. I recently wrote a 2 table dbase in it for my wifes Asiatic Lilies which included an image of each and I didn't exceed the limit. (Mind you there are only 60 or so lilies.) If you use JPG images and reduce their size you could almost certainly fit 500 in I believe.
Have a look anyway.

Have a look at Photostage Slideshow producer. There is a trial option available. Creates end product as MP4 or AVi and I believe other protocols too.

I foresee that 2020 will be a banner year for ophthalmologists, optometrists and opticians.

Think about it.

Should also be a great year for short cricket games?!

Have been using this software for the last couple of months. I note that when you run a preview of your show the images are poor quality but when you export the show to a video and set your preferences they are fine. Its not the greatest of programs but produces a slideshow of acceptable quality and the resulting shows are substantially smaller in size than if you produced them from Lightroom with its limited options. I'll continue to use it, familiarity improves the results.

In Windows if you rightclick on a file and select properties from themenu shown you can see if the file has been set to read only. Might be worth checking that.

I have found a free programme called Photostage which gives a good range of animations and transitions. It also allows you to have music running during the slideshow. Just Google "Download Photostage Free" and you'll be right there.

In New Zealand the first Sunday of Sepember is known as Daffodil Day and a raft of events are run with the daffodil theme with proceeds going to Cancer research. In my area a Steam train is run each year and a part of the fares goes to the charity. The image below was taken as it crossed a railway bridge about half a mile from home. Hope you enjoy.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a tripod mount for the Tamron 100-400 lens other than the $130 that Tamron wants for theirs? That seems a little pricey to me. But I also love my new lens so will pay it if there isn't anything equivalent for a lesser price.

Bought one of these for my Tamron 100-400. Works fine and is a fraction of the Tamron price.

This is isn't a stop-start padded and helmetted pansy-boy sport like your football.
This is 80 minutes, in two halves of 40 minutes none stop action, with one ten minute
interval at half time. Imagine your Prima Donnas mixing it with these guys, they
wouldn't last two minutes............(;-))....Enjoy.......I'll just get out all my padding, helmet etc etc

Cheers and Beers

Try this clip.
The guys in the black uniforms are the World Cup Holders, called The All Blacks, they are the New Zealand Team. This not only shows how tough they are, it also shows the skills.

Is there is anyone who uses the Libre word program? If so can you help me. I write multiple page documents and for the life of me cannot put the page numbers at the bottom of the page, much less a running number of the page numbers. If you can help me I appreciate it. I have tried everything their instructions say to no avail. It's driving me nuts!

I must confess, I don't want to pay for a subscription to MS Word. In my opinion MS screwed up, big time!

Thanks for your help!!!

Today I start the presentation of segment 4 of our DownUnder trip with the visit of the North Island, the smaller but more populous of New Zealand's two main islands.

Our first stop was in Napier, a coastal city of about 64,000 inhabitants in the renowned wine-producing region of Hawke's Bay on the east coast of the island. It is a quite pretty town that we remembered well from our previous visit.

After the severe 1931 earthquake, the town was rebuilt mainly in Art Deco style and today carries the moniker of "The Art Deco capital of the world". Napier is quite an artsy town with a number of statues and fountains placed in streets and squares, it also has an attractive centrally located garden, the "Clive Square Gardens" with palm trees and colorful flower beds.

Please view in Download for best quality.
