I love pinks and purples, so this set is very appealing.
I just saw them! Really like those!
Good luck! Make it fun and capture the emotion :)
I'm not a pro...
White balance, exposure and bracketing photos. If you use auto white balance, the camera will leave your subjects very dark because of the bright reflection off of the snow. Depending on what you use to shoot with, see if the possibility exists to bracket photos. Each picture you take will produce 3. One will be the setting you shot with, one will be overexposed, one will be underexposed according to the settings you put in.
With couples zoom in close to their faces or don't include large amounts of snow in the frame. Lots of options.
Another iPhone picture through the window of my car. These ones are just for fun :)
Just purchased Lightroom 4 and a text book guide. I'll see how that goes first. A new 50mm lense also on its way. I'm excited to try it out!
Just some iPhone fun :)
Bmac,
I think it would be hard to decide about the a/c unit. The perfectionist in me leans toward the crop, while the urban side leans toward leaving it... The a/c unit brings the picture into a modern context as it is graffiti. :)
Thank you ALL for making me feel welcome and for giving me some ideas! This is really a great difference from the secret competitive atmosphere I've had experience with.
JoboX,
I have done a lot of hinting... Those are the two programs I would love to have. I realize the learning curve is huge though. Thanks and Merry Christmas to you too!

[quote=Hoss]I like Paintshop Pro. It does not cost a lot and is easy to use. A lot of people like Photoshop as well, a bit more costly but you can do more with it. I do not do much in the way of playing with my images so Paint shop works well for me. Some of my friends that have Photoshop took a look at Paintshop Pro and they like it and said for the money you can't beat it. Photoshop has more bells and whistles.
And welcome to the forum!!!

Thank you Mike,
I do not like to manipulate my photos much either. The local photographers around here must use photoshop CS with pre-made overlays, etc. I like to create beautiful images naturally, but do enjoy a few fun effects now and then. I currently have a RAW image converter software that came with my camera, in addition to PS Elements v10. Most of what I do with my images has to do with cropping and changing color to monochrome with some partial saturation of those changes. Nothing major. The market for portraits here is heavy on the altered, faded images that seem to all look similar to me.

I love old barns and anything else rusty, like old cars or trucks. Very nice!
I am absolutely an admirer of B&W and monochrome images. I think they are just timeless. As much as I love bright colors in life, I gravitate toward B&W. I love the bottom four photos!
