It's either very basic traning or not very good traning, the instructor? doesn't seem to be taking it seriously and is nothing like the instructors I've seen in both the British and US armies. I'm also courious about the shotgun, I know many forces use combat shotguns but they usually start traning their soldiers on the basic infantry weapons first, this looks a bit like the first time shes fired a weapon to me.

While you can get the lightness from just camera ajustments, the pics shown look a lot like one of the paint the moon actions may have been used.

Fluorescent lights flicker at about 120 times a second, if your shutter speeds are high enough you may be shooting while some (or all ) of the lights are off rather than onn. Try taking a few shots of the lights at your normal shooting speed and see if any look off, this may be the cause of your uneven exposures.
For WB try using live view and scrolling through the various wb untill you get closest to the scene, then set that, it's not as good as a proper custom wb but it's a quick and easy way to get close.

Be sure you get the adapter if you don't have it yet. Probably T-Mount to EOS - they also make T-Mount to Nikon. About $5 on eBay, Some even have the "AF Confirm" chip. Without the chip your dial should be on M. Even though the chip allows Av or Tv, I find I'm better off at full manual. I use an Opteka 650-1300 and a Lentar 500 F8 like that with my Canons.

A tripod will be very handy with this.

There will be a bit of experimenting with exposure time. With a little work and playing around, you'll get some decent shots.

I'm fairly sure the Sigma 600 didn't come in a T mount, only camera specific fittings. I suspect your thinking of the cheap "branded" makers mirror lens which were usually a T mount.

You can do it without even using the filters, shoot 3 shots and simply use one of the channels from each shot, where nothing moves you have normal colour, where the movement is you have the various colour from the different channels.

Maybe we need the same type of thread for RAW then, no jpeg mentioned.

Oh dear have I rattled your cage, I'm sorry you don't like my opinion but it's as vadid as yours, the reason sticks were used is because our gun laws are more restrictive than yours, we learnt from our mistakes like Dunblane.
I'm certainly not trying to tell you how to run your conutry, any more than I want you to try and run my country.

Just open the photo in gimp after you edit in PSP or whatever and apply the filter, job done.

As others suggest Elements is probably about the easiest with guided mode to help you along, Lightroom is a good program but not as easy to use unless you read up or watch tutorials first.
