Nice pictures and a hobby I share as well. I have hundreds of pics of my granddaughter and once a year do a poster for her of my best shots. She is in grade 10 and recently had a 40 point game!!!
This year I did something different and she loved it !

Will be taking pics of 4-H expo participants. Want to post them on internet so all participants can download and print their own pictures of the event. Ideally I would like to hand out a small business card to everyone that shows where the photos are stored and how they can download them at their leisure. Doing this at no charge. I tried Dropbox but seems like I would have to email each person an individual "code" which is what I want to avoid. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
Thanks

I have used Blurb and was very pleased with the results. if you use Lightroom it is easy to create and book and then save it & WAIT for a Blurb sale. They regularly have discounted promotions sometimes as much as 1/2 price so patience will be rewarded. You can sign up for blurb without ordering and then you will get all their promotion emails.

Not familiar with Lasik surgery but on the topic of corrective lens my wife & I both had lens implants done a year ago. (68 & 70 yrs old). Have worn glasses for years and certainly dont miss them. We had a choice of distance vision or close up vision with the lens paid for by health care but were give the option of a more expensive lens at a cost of $5000 for two eyes which we opted for. Close and far vision is now excellent. After surgery we both noticed halos around any bright light but our surgeon said our brains would adjust and eventually ignore which the halos and this is true. Would certainly have this procedure done again. In Canada we are able to write off the cost of this procedure on our income tax which brings the cost down.
Hope this helps or is of interest to you.
Best of luck, there is nothing quite like being able to see clearly.

Just got a Canon G7X and it has a feature that puts the date & time onto the actual picture. Not sure I like the feature but may use it someday!

I shoot lots of grandkids basketball with Canon 5D MIII using 70-200 2.8 ISM lens with no flash.
Camera settings are as follows:
-custom white balance (shoot grey card at start)
-usually aperature of 3.2 to 3.5
-shutter 800 to 1000
-back button focus & high speed continuous
I get lots of great action shots, I also get lots of poor shots. Tracking the action helps.
Hope this helps.

Situation: I had a external drive crash (no power will not boot up) lost 2015 year pictures . Naturally all years backed-up except this one. However in Photoshop Elements 13 they are all showing up as thumbnails with the yellow "question mark" as missing files. Does any one know if these pics are potentially retrievable from these thumbnails. I also use Lightroom and Photoshop subscriptions. Everything has been tried on the bad external and no success . Don't think it is worthwhile to sent for possible recovery through the manufacturer Seagate. By the way if you ever open a cover on an external hard drive and try to get warranty coverage on it afterwords, forget it. Would appreciate ideas on the "Thumbnail" situation.

This may seem crazy but try putting it in the freezer overnight. This actually worked with a laptop that the harddrive had died in. Took two trys but it came back to life enough to recover my data.

I had a canon rebel and purchased a 24-105L and really enjoyed the versatility of the lens, then moved up to a FF canon and added a 70-200, these are my two main lenses. Definitely recommend the 24-105 as a general purpose lens.
