Photo Book Recommendations
Does anyone have a recommendation on where to get a photo book made? Could be for family, personal, business.
Thank you!
I use the built-in link from Lightroom. It's called Blurb. I've done two books with them and the results were better than I could have hoped. The prices weren't too bad either. Both had about 90 pages of one big image per page and it cost me about $55. Not too bad. I haven't tried any other service but I can recommend Blurb.
I use Shutterfly. You have to watch for the sales! If you have a lot of pages, the free unlimited pages is the best.
Thank you. I also just looked up what had been said in the past. If there is anything new, please let me know. Happy New Year!

I don't use Lightroom, but I have had 8 or 10 books made by Blurb, and have been very happy with every one of them. Ditto for the recipients.
I have text ready for another book, just have to find the photo's for it, and it too, will be printed by Blurb.
I have used Costco to print books. They do a very nice job and are cost effective. You can put text anywhere you want including the front and back covers and eh spine. Additionally, you can have pictures on the two covers.
Several friends go to Shutterfly but I use Mixbook.com. Hardest part of making a book is culling through all the photos and narrowing it down to what to include. Once you do that, put them all in book folder and upload. Don’t let the service populate the pages automatically. Just choose blank pages and then do the layout one spread at a time.

I use Blurb through LrC. I've done 25 or more books this way over the year, 15 of which are high-end coffee table size books with full page spreads. High quality results. Obviously, I'd recommend them.
I also recommend Blurb, either go directly to their website or use the Book module in Lightroom. I have used both techniques and I prefer using the Book module. Great service and books !
NOT Shutterfly. I tried them last year to do a book of candid's from a friends wedding. Used their crop outlines and page set-ups, and sent it off for processing via their website.
They didn't even match color balance (tones) from picture to picture. Cut off heads and cut off edges of group shots, didn't follow crop edging. Shipping was by UPS, first one never arrived, second one was delivered to a house about 3/4 mile away.
aafridge magnets were OK.
Overall process took all of 3 weeks and 4 separate shipments. Oh, by the way customer service response to several calls was "sorry".
Shutterfly is really, really great.
We have done well over 20 books from them and all have been perfect.
They have 8x8, 8x11, 10x10, 11x8, 11x14 and 12x12 all in inch measurements.
Check them out and sign up for their emails and you will get FREE offers and 50% OFF sales sometime they offer FREE photobooks.
Plus you can use them as a photo storage site and even give access to your family and friends.
And NO I do not work there I am just very happy with their quality work and good prices.

I have used Blurb and was very pleased with the results. if you use Lightroom it is easy to create and book and then save it & WAIT for a Blurb sale. They regularly have discounted promotions sometimes as much as 1/2 price so patience will be rewarded. You can sign up for blurb without ordering and then you will get all their promotion emails.
