Tell the gate agent you have lithium batteries in the bag and they’ll let you take it onboard.

My policy is you don’t offer any information whether its TSA, immigration, or security, period.
If they want to know something they’ll ask you
Had a friend who declared $25,000 to customs
When he went through TSA he told them he had declared $25,000 to customs
They sent his luggage through the scanner a second time
They had him empty his complete bag because they were unable to see the money on the scanner
He said I’ll never do that again!

Good response. Gonna remember to call canon. Hate calling about any issue regarding anything. Due to getting thru their recordings before talking to a real person. And then getting thru their scripted answers and then not understanding what they are telling me and bottom line I usually hang up with no resolution. thankfully, for photo issues I can read a lot of expert opinions here on UHH

It is been sometime since I’ve called Cannon but I don’t remember waiting a long time nor having to answer a bunch of questions
I told them I had a Canon camera but I had a question about my Nikon camera because getting through to Nikon rep was a bitch
They always say no problem

I understand why you didn’t call Nikon first because most of their support is outside the US: India, Dominican Republic, South America
Rarely was the problem answered correctly
Since I also own a Canon I started calling their support and I always got good answers even tho they knew I was calling about a Nikon
I was told all Canon support agents are based here in the US

I bought an earlier RX10 and had to return it as I was over whelmed when I went into the menu.
It lost me completely.
Took good photos tho.
Bought a Canon G9X Mark 2

Consider visiting some of the "smaller" cities, for example Guilin, Qingdao, or Changsha. www.tripadvisor.com has good overviews of these and other cities. The megacities that you mention are interesting and fun but can be overwhelming. The smaller cities have retained more Chinese flavor and friendliness. And there's lots of non-urban parts of China to see, for example: the "Avatar" mountains, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDoMYr7b44M and great photo opportunities: https://www.cnn.com/travel/article/china-beautiful-places/index.html. Plan to ride the G trains between the cities...almost 200mph, always on time, and a lot more comfortable than flying. This guy can tell you all about the trains: https://www.seat61.com/China.htm. I've been to China 36 times...I can't wait for Trip #37. No matter where you go, you will have fun. You have chosen your next vacation well !

From my experiences of being around Chinese people in other countries on my travels
I would not want to go to China the 1st time!
Singapore, Thailand, Switzerland, and the US nothing but total rudeness from them.
Cutting in front of people that are in line.
All in a group shouting at each other at the same time (not talking ).
Like to see parts of the country but can not stand the people.

Is it possible and if so to transfer photos from my XT3 to my IPad Pro? I tried USB-C from camera to lightening on my IPad but nothing happened. I also tried a card reader to my iPad but the message was IPad didn’t have enough power. I used to connect my D500 to my IPad when traveling but it appears the Fuji may not be compatible. Any assistance would be appreciated. It also appears Fuji doesn’t play well with others. Love the camera but hate the inconvenience of having to bring my MacBook on trips. Grrrr

Using the card reader it may need the battery at 50% charge or more.
Never had a problem downloading photos using the card reader with my Fuji XE-3 and Canon G9X Mark2 to
my IPad.

I know that the x-e3 will connect to the phone and send the GPS cords to the camera.

Looking back at the photos this only happens with the Canon G9X Mark2
It is an iPad, not an iPhone, and the iPad is never taken on a photo shoot.
It only happens to photos taken in foreign countries like Thailand and Switzerland.
Thanks you for all the replies guys.

do you use a wifi card in your camera as I know some of these sd cards have gps built into them?

The memory card is just a standard 16GB SanDisk Card.

It has to be the iPad - try turning off Location then shooting as usual. After uploading to the iPad, check for geotagging.

Here are some examples. Some of them right down to the street address.
iPad was 25-100 miles away from where I took the photos.
Some info has to be on that camera memory card but how it gets there is the mystery.

I wonder if the card reader program knows (or there is a function enabled) where you are located via the iPad.
Either from what it may be connected to (WIFI) or if location is turned on??
I can't think of any other possibility for the difference in operation between in country and out of country.

Location is turned on but iPad stays in the condo when out shooting.
I went back and looked at the examples and it happened with my two point and shoot
Canon cameras, the G9X Mark 2 and the IS700.

I don't know your process of getting the images out of the camera. That's why I asked about the ISP. Seems like that might be the only difference in locations. Tablet/laptop/etc. would probably be the same.

To download I use the iPad Apple SD Card Camera Reader.
iPad stays in the hotel or condo.

Is the ISP in the country you are located matching with known images? Google?

Perhaps geotagging is an incorrect term to use.
When I download these photos to my iPad after a day out shooting it
displays the city and street where the photo was shot.
It is doing it now while I am in Switzerland and it did it last year while in Thailand.
It does not do it while I am in the States.
