Well doe st he trainer provide lessons for free? Trian the horse for free etc. I think you get the point. It is a fabulous picture, I might give them a 4x6 (only because I am thrilled whenever someone likes my work), but no jpeg to turn it into whtever their heart desires.

Hi, We are headed to NH last week of sept thru 2nd week of
oct. wondering how the colors might be based on last year , but
mother nature has a way of changing that . Was born and
raised in Whitefield NH many, many , moons ago . Going to
see all the changes that have occured in the area and burn a
lot of files . Walt

If I understand correctly, you will be in NH for 4-6 weeks. You could actually see peak colors throughout the state during that period. Changes in the North Country plenty. Especially driving through Franconia Notch and not seeing the Old Man. Enjoy your trip!

I would have to say my grandfather. My brother and I were the only grandchildren, and every time we visited, the last thing before we left was the photograph. Still remember all these years.

I am passionate about my photography, I love it, it resonates within me, its my song, its my dance, it's deep within my soul, it's my drug of choice. To capture a fleeing moment in time that will never be again. Whether thats the warmth of the sun or the pitter patter of raindrops it's my moment to create art.

For me photography involves several to many things. A family history, and history of events that I have seen or done. The opportunity to share things that I find beautiful and cool. The foliage of New England, the Grand Canyon, the lighthouses of New England, et al.

Hi, I've said this before but photography literally has saved my life. 7 years ago I became a paraplegic. I spent 2 months in the hospital going through therapy and I planned on taking the .357 out of here as soon as I got out of the hospital. My wife is a very bright and perceptive lady that gave me a P&S camera and a book on digital photography. She told me just to play around with the camera and if it interested me at all when I came home she'd buy me any camera I wanted. Well, by the time I came home I wanted to know more. This was 7 years ago and I still want to know more. I just bought my 5th camera and I'm loving photography. My wife has never let on that she was aware of how depressed I was but she introduced me to a new interest I could do without my legs so when you ask how important it is to me all I can say is next to my wife and family it's really important. Have fun and keep shootin'. Mike

1. Well if you want to go alone you should go alone. Sometimes 4 eyes are better than 2 though. I would avoid Strbucks and Macy's like the plague. If the trip started as a photo shoot, I would tell my friend it is a photo shoot trip.

2. The more you bring the more you have to carry. I usually just bring my camera. and lenses, maybe a tripod.

I getting prepared to spend my 1st day out taking pics..

1. A friend asked to go with me, I'm going into the city and don't want to go to Starbucks or Macy's. Do you prefer to be on your own or do you like a buddy hanging with you. I think I want to be alone.

2. Do you bring along any kind of sm folding stool, I know I'm going to have to sit down and figure out what I'm doing, there is a beautiful park along a river where I'm going.

Thanks

It a way it is too bad. That is they could have brought photography "to the masses" if they had desired. But their business model was to sell low quality high profit gear. Because of their business model they got what they deserved!!!

We attended a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese about a week or so. The birthday girl was my wife's cousin who was turing 5.

My wife asked me to bring my dslr. I wasn't going for fine art here, but I do like to think about the lighting on my snapshots. I am always scanning a room for places to bounce my flash and usually have my black foamie thing.

The family was satisfied with what I posted on Facebook, but I hated most of it. Most of my shots were overly grainy at all ISO's.

Yesterday I took a few shots of my daughter in bright sunlight. I exposed for the background and lit her with my flash(bounced from a white building to her left. I had auto ISO on and the camera chose somewhere between 320 and 400.

Back inside, I popped on my prime and shot available light at 2.8 1/40. I ended up deleting most of my shots. Just didn't see any point in loading them onto the computer.

Anyone else ever get into this sort of slump where you just can't get a good image?

I am going to attempt to get my muse back. I am looking at a purchase--my budget is tight so it will be ebay or pawnshops. I am looking at either a portrait lens or a few lightstands and reflectors.

Funny I shot some photos in Boston the other day. I don't like the results, but others loved them. So either we are our own worse critics, or people are too polite to say they think the photos stink. I would actually guess, we are our own worse critics.

What is the craziest/silliest thing you have done to get a photograph? I am not really talking hanging off a skyscraper with bungee cord, but waking up at 3 am and traveling x number miles to take the photo and return. Just wondering!!!!

Here are a few:
1. Traveled cross country alone with truck, tent, and camera to get pictures of the Pacific Ocean. Freaked my family and friends, and impressed the heck out of others.
2. Traveled 7954 miles, 17 days, 22 states to cram as many photo ops in as possible.
3. Hopped out of my truck in the middle of the road to take a picture of a bird.
4. Took my shoes off in the snow to go wading in a stream to get a picture.
5. Laid down on a fishing pier in white pants for an hour taking pictures of raindrops.
6. Stood outside with a metal tripod while under a tornado warning to get pictures of lightning.

Gina I like your style, except for maybe the tripod and lightning. I like the traveling the country in 17 days. Hey why not. You only live once, and if you live right once is all you will need!

It is my post so maybe not be too crazy, but I think nothing of jumping in car to go to a specific location (lighthouse, etc) and going back home. Sometimes 70 miles, or more.

It was a bit disappointing when the Coast Guard ship went by as there were many boaters in the water in the way a bit. There were plenty of people there for a couple of hours before this ship went by, and this is just when the boaters came out. I wouldn't have cared if the boaters were there first, but to me it was stepping in front of someone as the parade goes by.
