What is the craziest/silliest thing you have done to get a photograph? I am not really talking hanging off a skyscraper with bungee cord, but waking up at 3 am and traveling x number miles to take the photo and return. Just wondering!!!!

Lowering my camera into a sink hole(about 70 feet) and taking photos with camera set on interval shots. Did not know there was water at the bottom...how stupid.

It is my post so maybe not be too crazy, but I think nothing of jumping in car to go to a specific location (lighthouse, etc) and going back home. Sometimes 70 miles, or more.

So far, crawling into rosebush beds to get inbetween the flowers(My profile pic.) I don't consider it wild and crazy or silly, but I got a lot of stares from the other people using the public park the rose garden was in. I have also gotten on one knee to get lower, without getting completely on the ground. Anyway, I wear knee pads when I do and I get a lot of stares when I am walking around with them on as well, but it's all part of the job.

Looks like I have a lot of room to get crazier and sillier in getting my shots later on.

That's a good question...

Could it have been the time I was in the Miami ghetto shooting hip hop (rap) performers, and the straight down the barrel image I was shooting of the AK-47 in the hands of a probable released felon (drugs) was followed by its owner screaming "Get your finger off the trigger!!!"

I did move from the tripod, and he did not destroy the Hasselblad. Now I bring my OWN weapons dude to such shoots. (They always paid in cash.)

Getting up in the middle of the night or very early morning to go to take photos at a fire call only to be asked why was I there at that time instead of at home sleeping. I told the personnel if someone need sleep it's them since they don't look so nice anymore.

Like! I understand. I live in a slowly improving area. I need to be careful in the early morning. Chicago bars close at 5am. Every time I leave my cave it may turn stupid. Fact is, I have had more problems in rural areas!

Hearing a horn and realizing I have "foot zoomed" into the middle of Main St, totally unaware.

Here are a few:
1. Traveled cross country alone with truck, tent, and camera to get pictures of the Pacific Ocean. Freaked my family and friends, and impressed the heck out of others.
2. Traveled 7954 miles, 17 days, 22 states to cram as many photo ops in as possible.
3. Hopped out of my truck in the middle of the road to take a picture of a bird.
4. Took my shoes off in the snow to go wading in a stream to get a picture.
5. Laid down on a fishing pier in white pants for an hour taking pictures of raindrops.
6. Stood outside with a metal tripod while under a tornado warning to get pictures of lightning.

Gina I like your style, except for maybe the tripod and lightning. I like the traveling the country in 17 days. Hey why not. You only live once, and if you live right once is all you will need!

I climbed 10-15 feet down the Pacific palisade cliffs in California to take a photo of poppies.....the photos were great, but there was a small earthquake and small stones pummeled me before I returned up to the coast road. I have to admit that was crazy.
