Interesting to note the driver managed to miss all those posts designed to stop the cars - unless they were knocked over which means they weren't very good at their job.

To the contrary - Other news photos shows one bollard was under the front of the vehicle. So maybe not good enough to stop the vehicle, but maybe did slow the intrusion.

Great photos of Winchester Cathedral. They do show their age but at least you have those photos. I have lost many photos through the years from that time period.

I looked up the song, Winchester Cathedral, and found,

What artists have covered Winchester Cathedral?
Artists to cover this song include Petula Clark, Dizzy Gillespie, Ray Conniff, Frank Sinatra and Lawrence Welk. Stephens was inspired to write this song after staring at a picture of Winchester Cathedral on his calendar. This won the 1966 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Rock & Roll Recording.

I arrived in Vietnam in 1966 and have to say I was in good company back then with Petula Clark as well as Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Band.

Thank you David & Dennis. Nice to see the photos and the background of the song. I was in the Navy, left the USA in August '66. In Jan '67 we had a new person join the dept, who was whistling a 'catchy tune.' When we asked what it was he said "Winchester Cathedral." We had not heard it before. A month later when we returned to the States the song was no longer being played. We had missed it completely. Thank you again for the memories.

We had one in our neighborhood last year.
My daughter did the research and found it was a gene mutation.

Unfortunately our squirrel decided to play in the traffic.

When I returned an item recently, the refund was credited (I'm sure) before the item left the UPS Store.

Others have made the anology to a wrecked AirStream.

When viewing the building from a distance, the structure is supposed to represent sheets of music. Remember this is a concert hall, on a campus with a strong emphasis on the performing arts.

The structure aside (although those are the images here) inside the concert hall the acoustics are fabulous. I had the opportunity to have a tour, before it was completed. From the far back corner of the auditorium I could hear the workmen on stage. They were NOT being amplified, just talking among themselves.

Yup, it can be called ugly, but none the less an impressive building.

Can someone tell me if there is a USB case that I can put a 1tb Hard drive in, and make it readable.
This drive come out of an old computer. I will like to use it as an external drive for my Lightroom Photos.

It is about 10 years old, I have a Rosewill SATA/IDE to USB. I do not have a link to share, but a search for the brand name "Rosewill" should turn up newer models. Just a thought!

Well Jerry,
I spent 43 years with computers and 'learned' where the keys were (unless they changed, and with early computers they sometimes did).

Then I went to college and had to take keyboarding (new word for typing).
I had straight A's in everything. Except Keyboarding, I was given a 'C' (I called it 'C for Charity') in reality I failed. They wanted speed and accuracy, I could give either, but not both.

In the Hudson Valley of NY - robins have been appearing earlier. The explanation has been given that they no longer are considered migratory. They stay in the area and change their diet to berries and seeds.

But still a beautiful photo.
Thanks for sharing.

I often thought we should send every airline passenger from the Northeast to the West with a 3oz. bottle of water.

Nice pictures!
Brings back memories. I was in DaNang Harbor in '67. Aboard Estes.
What ship were you on? From the edges, it seems like a fairly large vessel.

Well, can't show it in the hand, but it is the humming bird that was in the hand.

It had flown into the garage and would not leave the ceiling as it flew. I had to get it down so it could fly back out of the door. Nothing worked!
Until, it was (or must have been) very tired and scared. It finaly perched on the wire, as shown in the photo, which allowed me to get a hand around it and carry it outside.

One tired, but free, bird.
