One does not purchase either LR or PS. For past several years they have been marketed by Adobe only by subscription, $15/mo. for both. Disadvantage: One does not own, one in effect rents. Advantage: Continuous “free” updates. I use PSE a lot. More accurately it would be named Photoshop Lite. Offers nearly all of the tools found in Photoshop packaged in less mind-numbing form. This program one does purchase outright. I think latest version is $99.00.

After two years of unabated frustration with an Olympus OM-D EM-1ii model, I put it on Craigslist, selling it for less than half of what cost new. Reason for saying adios: menu system, which I found too difficult to navigate. Olympus prides itself on offering highly “customizable” settings. Translated: Tear-your-hair-out, and, IMO, needlessly complicated, menu. I finally said uncle, bought Panasonic Lumix G9. Far more user friendly and less money. I chose Panasonic mainly b/c can use Olympus lenses. Bottom line: EM-1 Markii takes superb pictures, but unless you are masochistic and/or have a high threshold for frustration, consider this a friendly word of warning from a voice of experience.

Am considering buying an Olympus OMD EM 1 MK 2 camera, ant issues with these ?

I have owned this camera for more than a year. I ditched my Nikon DSLR and all lens in making the conversion. I haven’t looked back, as they say. Fantastic camera. Could not be more pleased. Only negative, and it’s relatively minor, is that the camera is so sophisticated that the menu is complicated, hence longer learning curve.

I have been SmugMug subscriber for eight years, and I cannot say enough good things about them, especially customer support, which IMO is the best in ANY industry. I was tempted to switch to another portal when, several years ago, SmugMug changed platform architecture. After tire kicking Zenfolio, I decided to stick with SmugMug, figuring that switching to Zenfolio would have been a hassle. Another thing that impresses me about SmugMug is commitment to making “running” upgrades at no extra cost. Because I am hobbyist, not professional, I cannot speak to pros and cons of selling prints using SmugMug. Zenfolio or any other competing portal would have to promise me the moon (and perhaps a blissful afterlife) to lure me away.

I have owned, and used exclusively, an Olympus OM-D E-M ii for the past year. It replaced a Nikon D7100 and a full complement of lenses. I had been loyal to Nikon for years, and found its wares to be excellent, but I tired of lugging about all the weight and bulk. Prior to acquiring the Olympus, I purchased a Panasonic GX8. Good quality overall (electronic viewfinder is fabulous), but, contrary to expectation, I didn’t like the rangefinder style, the battery is small, and only one memory-card slot. I have nothing but good things to say about the Olympus. Optics are great. Granted, it is on the larger size physically among the mirrorless 4/3s, but still smaller than any DSLR, and all of the lenses are smaller. The capabilities of the camera are jaw-dropping. It is so laden with features that release of the (must-have) third-party how/to guide (Darrell Young, Rocky Nook publishing, $45) was months late. At 612 pages, it can easily double as a doorstop. I realize that Nikon has (finally)introduced its own line of mirrorless cameras, and that they are winning much praise. However, because they are full-sensor, they are not physically much smaller than the DSLR line, they are heavier and bulkier than the Olympus, and much pricier. The Olympus model in question retails for $2,000, body only. An added benefit of ANY Olympus is that it accepts Panasonic lenses, so the selection is enormous. I do not think you or anyone else will regret purchasing the Olympus.

Bobby, what’s last name, so I can enter in cellphone address book for future reference. Probably best to do so via email: tfblack@mail.com. Any other Rusted Relics candidates you know of? ~ Tom

Dear Original Poster, to reiterate, I would love to know whether vehicle still there, and if in affirmative, exact location in Orange. I can run a Google search to pinpoint. Much appreciated. You can find example after example of the beloved Rusted Relics I shoot on my website: www.tfblackphotography.com.

If a) image is of sufficient resolution printed correctly and b) printed correctly, the detail can be knock-socks-off amazing. Plus, it’s COOL!😏

I have been a faithful and very satisfied customer of SmugMug. IMO, everything considered, no other service comes close.

Apple ceased support of Aperture since June of 2014. After ditching Aperture with 3.0 as most recent (and final) version, it came out with Photos, which is supposed to be an upgrade of iPhoto, ashcanned at same time as Aperture. Instead, there is Photos, which is a joke, a huge step backward for anyone serious about editing images. Apple seems content to have left millions of loyal Aperture users in the lurch. Shameful.

I assume comment that "Aperture will keep up" is tongue-in-cheek. Apple abandoned support of Aperture several years ago, leaving user twirling in the wind. Many, of course, gravitated to Lightroom, which, as an Adobe product, is very much alive and well ... and getting better with each new release.
