Thank you for sharing. Myself, born and raised in AL. Lived in AL all my life. Perhaps with my age, I realize and perhaps understand things I was once oblivious. I can vouch that AL has a wide spectrum of wealth/lack of wealth, economics, talent, culture, etc. Traveling the state north to south, one may feel as if they went through several states considering terrain, geology, vegetation, etc. My former employment allowed me to see about 35 states. It gave me a good feeling to see other states also had their respective varieties. If I could have multiple lives, I would repeat the process in FL, LA, AR, TX and do another victory lap in AL. There are many good things in Alabama and Mississippi, unfortunately, not well known. I am sure the same can be said for other states. There is so much to see and learn here, it is hard to justify going out of the country for an experience. I have not been anywhere yet where I could not live had it been necessary. In my book, the US is a great place.
Yes, I too find myself sick with disgust every time, one of the advertisements is presented during the program I am watching. I wish I could buy them out and shut them down, destroy the video productions. And now we have some "competing products" starting their disgusting campaigns. God help us.
Thanks for the images. I have stayed at the Hampton Inn, Havasu City, while working out of Topock. Now I know why the motel looked a little used. I was always watching for the wild donkeys but never saw one. There were some dramatic sand storms. I enjoyed the town and driving the highway in the evening. One evening, I barely made it to the motel when the worst sand storm passed over. Passing the airport outside of town, aircraft were evacuating as fast as they could get airborne, hopefully all got above the sand. I remember how dramatic the colorful FedEx plane was in front of the storm.
I vote for dead jelly fish / man o war and sand fossilized by the lightning.
Always get the picture! (Major Rule)
Any functional lens is better than NO lens.
You done good.
Some friend, He never reimbursed me for the plastic bags!
OH NO. Now some one will spend all day trying to do this.
Any knowledge of a global shutter sensor coming to Canon or other brand? Thanks.
I too think it is a corn snake. It is not venomous, no such attributes. Please do not harm it. It is valuable to the environment. Traveling pipelines for work I see a lot of critters. I saw more snakes in 2022 than any other year. Late summer, in central Mississippi, I walked up on one, corn snake like markings, I have not yet confirmed the variety. May be the largest US snake I have seen. Over 5 feet. Max diameter was greater than my wrist. After checking him out, I backed up; he went on down the hill. I think he knew where lunch was and he was on a lunch run. I was curious about his weight, he was healthy. Color and markings were so strong, I assumed "he". I was in a potentially hazardous gas atmosphere and had no intrinsically safe camera with me. Smart phones were safely stored in company vehicles. What a missed opportunity.
Someone else has already written what I was thinking. That is the best picture of Shiprock I have ever seen. My work has provided me the opportunity to view Shiprock and Windowrock.
Thanks for sharing. The name seemed familiar. Checked the map, I was near there for work a while back. Another great place to have a camera in hand. Regret the saloon is not open. I am sure I crossed Wolf Creek on another road.
