I was on a trip to Arizona and I forgot my 70 300 nikon lens, I only had my 24 -85 nikon lens so I hit a thrift shop out there and saw a sears 70-210 4.5-5.6 macro lens for 10.00 old lens but like new so I used this for my zoom lens. The pics look pretty good considering it is an old man. Lens. What do you guys think of my spur of the moment lens.I will try to post some pics when I get back. Thanks Jim Bianco

Glad it worked out for you. Looking forward to some captures with this lens.

If the lens worked for you that is what really matters. It is my understanding that most lenses with the Sears brand were made by Ricoh.

You preserved some photos to look at later so it is good for you.
If it worked and you like the results, good job.
Always get the picture! (Major Rule)
Any functional lens is better than NO lens.
You done good.
Long time ago , i bought a 80/200 at sears pentax mount, i think it was made by Komin ???? .It does well .
A great deal and a stroke of luck to find something like it in a time of need. A fellow can hardly buy a hamburger and fry for ten dollars today.
$10 sure makes it worth a try. Nothing really to loose. Looking forward to seeing some pics.

I have a number of off the wall lenses, including ones by "Sears" and "Vivitar". Some are good, some not so good. But in nearly every case I prefer my Pentax and Takumar lenses.
I bought one of those generic store branded zooms from Kit's Camera when I was a teen back in the late 70's for use with my Pentax MX. I think it was around $300 which would be about (according to google) $1400 today! I remember being very pleased with the photos I took with it.
I have a very good Sears 135 2.8, barely used condition. Great lens! (Free with a Sears KS2, 4 rolls of film, bag, all for $25.) Bonus: Down in an obscure pocket, a Nikkor 55 AI 2.8 Micro!
