Kelby's book is by far the best if you are just getting back in the game. He presents the material like your best friend and doesn't get stuck in the weeds like some of the others do.

Peggy's Cove was mentioned and that is an iconic venue. You might try further south towards Lunenburg. Quaint, charming and colorful.

Nice job. I wonder if the WB is correct. Looks a little toward the cold side when looking at the folks in the stands.

i use a d70 almost everyday, and let my computer erase pics.over 43,000 clicks and never had a problem.soon to be my backup as i am looking to upgrade.tom

I also went down the same road. My D70 is now my back-up, and recently bought a D5100. I still use the comp. to delete pix, and manually delete the pix from the camera card.  :)

We started with the D70 when it came out and then added the D80. The D7000 is now the prime and DW uses the D80. The D70 is always in the car for that "wow, I wish I had a camera with me" shot.

I'll bet it is bent pin problems on the card connector. Look inside the card compartment with and see if there might be at least one pin that is bent. I had that problem and found a fix procedure by searching the web.

Welcome to the club.....how did you get Adobe CS7 ?

Just a tip on the first photo - try getting lower when shooting children. Get at least to eye level or lower to make the shot better composed.
