What is your relevance of that comment with respect to 'Auto ISO'?

Right on Grahame, we had an occasion to snap a photo out of a car window last week at night at a beach cottage we were staying at that once belonged to my wife's family, and with the camera set on Auto ISO which selected 12,800 for the image, she handheld fired off a shot out the car window at 1/4 second f/3.5 using a Nikon 18-200 lens on a D7500 with the engine running, and after some Denoise, gigapixel and Topaz sharpening applied, this is what we got. Another sentimental memory caught frozen in time.

Things work out best for those with the best cameras.

Yeah, maybe I better take another look at Sony. My A77 II is starting to give me trouble... :^)

Yeah, one of those pink flamingos got in the way. I later ate it and it did not taste like chicken. Actually I snapped the shot off the computer screen.

That motorcycle in the photo reminded me of the 1973 Honda CB 750 that I drove from Delaware to Florida about that time with a tent strapped to the sissy bar and and a sleeping bag and camera bag with two camera bodies, a dozen or so rolls of slide film, and a few lenses behind me. Fairing and saddle bags were packed full also for the 3 week ride that took me down the East Coast of Florida to Key West, and back up the West coast, crossing over around Weeki Wachee springs to Orlando to camp out at Ft. Wilderness at Disney world while I took loads of shots there also before heading back up through I-75 (I had come down I-95 on the way down). Best ride of my life!

I second the advice that Jose Rodriquez gives on his YouTube videos regarding refilling cartridges. I learned a lot just from watching this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Ds30QGVhS4
Just a 5 minute spot that is loaded with useful information on refilling.

As I sometimes do with photos that I want to see if I can bring out more, I follow up with a run through LR and when I did this, I noticed that the gas price on the pump looks to read 34.9 cents a gallon. Sound about right? Here's the resulting shot.

Good results can also be had rather quickly using Paint Shop Pro which I've been using ever since it came out in the 80's for Old prints and retouching. The one picture that stood out to me to work on was this one which took less than 10 minutes including removing some blemishes. Comments welcome.

[quote=pef]I am going to take the two photos to be restored.

I would be tempted to just get the second one restored and maybe printed a little bigger if you have room to hang it, and if you really liked the results, see what can be done with the first one. Just my thoughts.

I wonder what it was thinking? Couldn't you get it to smile? Maybe some PS could fix that. Nice shot though!

My first full frame SLR camera was a Minolta SRT-101, and ended with a Nikon FTn. I'm using the Sony Alpha A-77 mostly now.

If we're shooting raw, using LR, PS, and the Topaz trio of popular products and maybe one or two others, depending on your needs, I'm of the mindset that with todays offerings you should be able to get a satisfactory print out of any of the formats available today. If you don't use the above or similar products and want to go SOOC jpegs, then hedge your bets and go full frame.
