We were there in 2015 and went to the same places you mentioned. I had my Sony A6000 with the 18-50 mm lens and a 19mm lends. These worked great for outdoor and indoor shots. Most places you can't use a tripod. Have fun and enjoy the history.

I just got a Tokina 12-24mm Pro lens. Since there is a motor in the D7000 you don't have to paid the extra price for the motor in the lens. It is a great lens and got excellent reviews.
