Have you ever not had something and not seen a need for it until you just happen across a chance encounter with it and now realize that you do need it?

I currently do not have any post production capability, and have never really seen a
need for it due to it's expensive nature. But my wife has recently found selling on Amazon,
Adobe Photoshop Elements 11, and not being familiar with any of the post production
software I am wondering if this is good buy for only $49.99 or would you all recommend
some other software instead and if so which ones? Thanks in advance ...... Bill

A Texan using a .380?
small animal ,small round,HAR!

Doesn't matter what size the target is, most male Texan's would have used a .44 Magnum. A wimpy male or a female Texan would use the .357 magnum.

Yes somebody finally asked that question. It was the last post, on page 1 of this thread.

Just wondering how the group feels about neck straps vs other carrying straps.

I do a lot hiking with my Canon Mark 5, so I purchased one of the full loop, over the shoulder straps, that's suppose to position the camera at waist level by your hand. Trouble was the strap had a buckle right where the camera slide would catch everytime I would try to bring the camera up to eye level.

any thoughts?

I do not use the strap with the product name on it. They don't compensate me.!

That's the same reason why I place a strip of black tape over the logo on my cameras. When people ask me what kind of camera i'm using, I smile and tell them I use a black one.

Have you taken any photos that would blow the viewing public's socks off? Maybe if you did that,
they would then compensate you, and you could then take that tacky black tape off of your camera!

Most people here seem to be walking with their cameras. I ride a bike and need a strap that will hold the camera out of the way when cycling, perhaps at my back. Does anyone else cycle with a camera attached securely and easy to access? If so what do you use?

You didn't mention what camera you were using, but... how about a camera holster, something like this?

I live in a senior Building. Last night I went down to the lobby to catch a little T.V. and see who was there to talk with . There were a group of ladies sitting there and one had a new Nikon DSLR , I said "oh another Nikon user, they're a good choice! then I asked what model is it? She said " oh I don't know ,I just got it a few days ago ! " ,, I walked around the table so I could see what it was and I was shocked to see its the Nikon D300s ! I think if I shelled out that kind of money I'd know what it was ,,,lol .... then I asked how were the pictures and she said I don't know how to used it yet !

I guess it's true, you can pay some professional

Yes the D3100 is a DX body!
I would and did get the 50mm f/1.8 lens when I had my D3100 and loved it so much it became my go to walk around lens. When I sold my D3100 and got my D90 the only lens I kept was the 50mm f/1.8 and use it regularly on the D90, and still love it. I did have the 18-55mm and the 55-300mm lenses with the D3100. My next purchase will probably be a 10-24mm (or similar) W/A lens.
