Its clearly easier with more modern AI software but if on a budget you may be better in the long run to look at a free app like Gimp as it will probably be better software than an old copy of Photoshop now.

I enjoyed both of your photos. I think adding a little sharpening to her earrings would help since you wanted to highlight them.
In my opinion you were a little heavy handed, eliminated too much shadow, with your pp on her neck in the second picture. I can tell you did some work because it is so smooth. Sometimes when doing a lot of correction the area gets too smooth. To counter that you can add just 1.0 of noise getting the area noise about the same as the rest of the image.

I used to have to shoot interiors with exterior views in a single shot 30 years ago and we used a method called balanced flash. I think it is even easier now with flashguns that have TTL capability. Flash on TTL and if it has it "high speed sync", camera on aperture priority and something like f11 to f16 and angle off slightly so the flash does not reflect in the window glass. I don't know if this will save you work in post but may be worth experimenting with.

My eyes went to the elevated tree on the left which feels entirely out of character with the rest of the scene. Would there really be a building sized boulder in such a place?

The tree is not elevated, the bolder you refer to is in fact a hedge, just my poor processing had darkened the detail so much it looks like a bolder! Thank you all for your inputs, I will re edit this image with those suggestions in mind and in particular sort the bolder look a like. Thank you again to those who have commented.

The main focus to my eyes is the cemetery. I would go in closer to capture the Church and some grave sites. My 2 cents.

Indeed after reading your input I notice how my eye is initially drawn to the black headstone on the left, which does grab attention away from the main subject of the church.

I have added a slight blue tone to emphasize the cold, any suggestions on how to improve this image most welcome.

Could light from the sun behind you have crept into a small gap between your eye and the viewfinder? or is light leak not an issue with mirrorless cameras?

I would go for the Z50 with 2 lens kit. In fact I own a D850 and will get the Z50 kit shortly as a compact but quality low cost travel system. Check out picture quality by searching Flickr. Also if you get the FTZ adaptor you can use any Nikon DX lenses you already have.

I would like to mention I always try to put cropping towards the front. This is because cropping will alter the final images exposure balance and possibly change the way you wanted the image to finally look. If you need proof open Lightroom and select develop module. Select your image making sure you have the histogram panel open. Notice as you change the crop for the selected image the histogram will change. Cropping earlier in the workflow may save you having to adjust the same sliders twice to get the required and balanced finished look you wanted.

I have done some research and stacked images is the way to go, then process the images with software like PIPP and Registax.
