I did a shoot with Tiffany last Friday; she is currently a contestant in the Miss Minnesota Beauty Pageant. I’m trying to get my photography business off the ground and hoping to get more work with Tiffany and other contestants in the future. These photos were to highlight the ear rings.

Photo 1... two years after graduating from Highschool, "The girls always thought you were a boring math instructor, but you taught me a few lessons!!!"

Like I said these are beautiful shots. Just a thought, I don't think the DOF is right. Wonderful focus on the eyes but not enough on the ear rings. Probably f/8 or better. Thanks BE SAFE!!

Tom, the EXIF shows f/8 and fast speed 1/160, the hair just behind the earring, the photo left, is in focus. I think it is the dazzle effect of the material of which the earring is made. Looking at the earring on the right side of the photo it looks in focus. I'm I right, or my old eyes are failing me?

I enjoyed both of your photos. I think adding a little sharpening to her earrings would help since you wanted to highlight them.
In my opinion you were a little heavy handed, eliminated too much shadow, with your pp on her neck in the second picture. I can tell you did some work because it is so smooth. Sometimes when doing a lot of correction the area gets too smooth. To counter that you can add just 1.0 of noise getting the area noise about the same as the rest of the image.
