I have added a slight blue tone to emphasize the cold, any suggestions on how to improve this image most welcome.

The main focus to my eyes is the cemetery. I would go in closer to capture the Church and some grave sites. My 2 cents.

Indeed after reading your input I notice how my eye is initially drawn to the black headstone on the left, which does grab attention away from the main subject of the church.
I agree that the only problem is the black stone--it’s and eye-grabber.
Interesting what and how people see. My eyes went straight to the church when I opened the photo. My first thought was, if that was my photo, and it's not, I would remove the footprints and make the area look pristine. I didn't even notice the black stone until it was mentioned.
My eyes went to the elevated tree on the left which feels entirely out of character with the rest of the scene. Would there really be a building sized boulder in such a place?

The tree is not elevated, the bolder you refer to is in fact a hedge, just my poor processing had darkened the detail so much it looks like a bolder! Thank you all for your inputs, I will re edit this image with those suggestions in mind and in particular sort the bolder look a like. Thank you again to those who have commented.
I really like the stark coldness of the scene. It reminds me somehow of those World War II photos of Eastern Europe. My only critique would be to suggest that you maybe blur out the writing on the headstone in the left foreground. It does draw the eye away from the main scene which as I see it is the church building and the path leading up to it through the cemetery.
A polarization or ND filter should be used, selected differant times of the day to reattempt the shot. Compere each shot at differant hours for naturally occurring contrast and shadows.

A closer view would be better.
