A noose? Hmm. If that's what you think you see, then to you it's a noose....

It looks like a chimney with smoke coming out to me.

Fantastic set of images!!!
Of a destructive little bastard!!

Nice shots they look great. They are everywhere here in Pa.
I'm curious, what do they destroy? I trapped them for their fur many years when I was in high school. I know people who eat them. I never saw them destroy anything.

If I were to guess, I'd say the squirrel got away. They can be extremely fast and agile while climbing a tree and are able to maneuver from one side to the other much quicker than a bird of prey can fly around the tree.

I think I agree with you.

My son sent me this photo. It's not very good. It's from his trail camera. A rather good capture though. I posted it because the subject matter is interesting. I wonder if the squirrel got away or was he lunch?

I use a Minolta 100-400 APO on my Sony A65 and my Sony 77a Markii. It works fine and produces tack sharp images. I bought mine new many years ago and used it on a Minolta 9XI. You can pick up one in excellent quality used for 200 to 300 dollars.

I'm amazed, How did you get that much trail in only 15 Seconds? I took photographs of star trails for a science fair project in 1958. A picture like you posted would have taken an exposure for most of the night to produce trails that long. It appears you were close to the north star by the shape of the trails. Try some shots of one of the constellations. For my shots I used a 2A brownie up on my roof propped up on a brick with 116 Kodak B&W Film ASA 100. It was a long time ago.
