Utter Nonsense. Stand outside on a very cold morning...exhale and you see vapor coming from your mouth. Now examine the basics of a jet airliner at 30,000 feet. The jet's engines produce an average exhaust heat temperature of 200 - 300 degrees Celsius (392 - 572 degrees Fahrenheit). The air temperature at that same altitude is a very frigid negative 56 degrees Celsius (- 70 F). The hot meeting the cold produces the same vapor which lasts longer and is seen as a trail because of the speed of the airplane and the extreme differences in temperature. Sorry, but there are no little green men hired by the government to poison the environment.
Great shots all, but your #3 is worthy of a photo-journalist award.
Just a great shot. Thanks for sharing.
Spent the usual year in Vietnam with an Air Assault Unit (1st Battalion, 7th Cavalry), and everything we did involved helicopters...we exited them (usually three or 4 feet above the ground), sometimes under enemy fire. The helicopters were our "life line", brought us food, ammunition, two cans of beer (always warm) every day, mail and everything a man could want. It also brought us out of the field, dead or alive...the helicopter was our life. Have never had a desire to ever board one since Vietnam.
Check your travel dates...remember that the monsoon always begins the third week in June.
I too watched the Cowboys game. Did anyone see the owner, Mr. Jones get up and leave his box when it was obvious that the Cowboys would loose the game? Not the first time he walked out before a game ended. I remember seeing him on the sidelines when it appeared his team would win, only to have him disappear when a last minute interception resulted in a lose. Just a sad commentary about the team owner.
Picture makes me smile. You know someone will find and use that picture if he ever runs for public office. Well done.
I enjoy this site and have learned a lot. I own a Sony A7II and after giving up trying to "understand" the manual, have actually learned how to get the most out of my camera through comments on this site. I am indeed grateful to those who willingly share their knowledge and experience. On the other hand, there are those who can't and won't do anything that doesn't elevate their own personal sense of self....sad. In the military we called them "the ten percent." Every group has them, and there is nothing anyone can do to change them. We all know them, they sit in the back of every group meeting, offer nothing but are the first to criticize. The rest of us just need to go on despite them. There are so many fine folks here who go out of their way to help others. Those are the folks who make this a great site. To all those who care about each other, a VERY HAPPY AND HEALTHY HOLIDAY SEASON AND NEW YEAR.
What a great idea, "A gathering of the Hogs." Pick a spot that's fun, with photographic opportunities, a place where folks would want to visit. Have a forum or two, even a dinner, and a 'photo of the year' contest. Could be fun.
ronichas, How is the Rokinon 14 working out for you? How is the IQ? Thanks, David
Concerning the above post, not wanting someone finding fault with my comment, please excuse the typo, it should read, "incredibly talented." Just pretend the "a" wasn't there.
Just finished a book on the life of Leonardo de Vince. He most obviously was a incredibly talented. Yet, during his lifetime he had his distractors, folks who were jealous and envious of his talent. Sadly, there are a few of those same types of folks in every forum. It's part of life; something we all have to deal with.
Yes, the Sony E-mount, full frame.
