My Dad was a funeral director for 62 years and as he got older he used to say that a lot. When he died I found the following poem, reduced in size and laminated in his wallet. Made me smile given his profession. Hope it makes you smile too.

POEM BEING OLD

When I was young, my slippers were red.
I could kick my heels up over my head.

When I grew older, my slippers were blue,
but I could still dance the whole night through.

Now I am old. My slippers are black.
I walk to the corner and puff my way back.

How do I know my youth has been spent?
Cause my & get-up-and-go; got up and went!

But in spite of all that, I able to grin
when I think of where my get-up-and-go has been!
I get up each mornin; and dust off my wits;
pick up the paper and read the obits. If my name is missin I know I aint dead, so I eat a good breakfast and go back to bed.

I think the same thing everytime I hear it. Makes me want to say "Glad it's not a problem because if it is, you need to find another job."

When I would go to the barber, he would ask, "What look?" I'd say "Paul Newman." His reply, "I'm a barber not a plastic surgeon!"

Welcome to the Hog. Beautiful images. I am envious of your "new" surroundings. Our youngest son & his wife are graduates of MSU Bozeman. Keep the pics coming brings back memories of you state.

Costco only sells vanilla but it is good and a full half gallon.
Another plus - you have to buy a 2 pack😊

I was fortunate as an official Army photographer (mopic) to have been sent to Germany in 1967. As a Pfc I couldn't afford Nikons but eventually acquired 2 black body Pentax SV's from the Canadian PX at Zweibruken. They cost $58 each. The joke was that black body cameras took better pictures.

I eventually acquired 5 lenses and a slide copier. Still have all of them. They provided great service. Only problem I had was light leaks in the cloth focal plane shutters about 15 years ago.

If this virus continues, I think I'm going to try to adapt the c-mount lenses to my D-850. I always thought the lenses were great.

Both my wife and I have had the surgery done by laser without issues. As with any surgery follow the doc's pre & post op instructions.

My wife had the bi-focal implants & they work well for her. It was recommended that I just go with lenses to correct my vision for seeing in the distance because my eyes were so bad.

Like a camera I see everything in focus when it't bright and sunny. I still prefer to use glasses with a slight correction when driving at night. I use Costco reading glasses.

One other thing I noticed is that I need a baseball hat when driving a convertible or outside. There seems to be more overhead glare than pre-op. I am 76. Go for it.

Many/most are. I made the mistake of assuming that the most photographed domes were where we docked. Mistake. They are in
Oia. We had booked shore excursions and were unable to change.

One of the problems with cruises is limited time in port and if with a group you have to keep moving. It does not lend itself to serious photography.

Moral of the story - do your research before you go & understand what a shore excursion includes - and still be ready to be surprised.

Here's a blue dome shot through bus window.

Thanks. That was my favorite from the cruise.
