I worked retail for many years and have seen that manners are going the way of the dodo. Anytime a child with manners was in the store I made sure to praise them and the parents.

Another loss is calling adults by their formal name i.e. Mrs Jones, Mr Smith. The closest I see now is the occasional title with the first name (this is a southern thing) Miss Mary, Mr Sam. I have to bite my tongue when the neighbor child calls me by my first name as though I am her best friend.

Yep, it's the same and you probably shouldn't over think it. Generational changes are tough for some, unless you just sit back and enjoy the ride.

I think some responses have become quite clinical and meaningless. The one I notice more than any is, ‘Have a nice day.’ If you listen carefully it can mean anything from, ‘Now piss off and stop bothering me,’ to, ‘It’s been a real pleasure to serve and look after you and I really do hope you enjoy the rest of your day.’
Tone of voice and facial expression I feel are the real giveaways.

This has bern a pet peeve of mine as well. As if the task or service being done would NOT have been done if it indeed had been a « problem. » I appreciate the advice of your other respondents to let it go.

To the OP, I first started hearing that when I went to Australia about 15 years ago. I thought to myself, 'well, I really don't have a problem, but I guess that's what they say here'. It did bother me when I kept hearing it here, but as others have said, it's really not a big deal in the scheme of things and I better get over it. But I still cringe. LOL

When someone says "You're welcome" to me I thank them for doing so.

I've concluded that the "No problem" came out of the intent to make known that there was no inconvenience suffered

It’s more a reflection of the ignorance of the person making the reply. It bothered me a little for a while and then just accepted it. I silently assume the responder is dumb.

Another common response is "Thank you". Grammar is no longer being taught. English is dying - Before long, people will be speaking with initials. Very sad. ITOFTS(I'm too old for this s--t)

After retirement I worked part time at Costco as a food demonstrator. I made it a point to always say "you're welcome" to the one out of ten who bothered to say "thank you".
