I have read, googled and watched YouTube till I'm blue in the face. How do I create a collection within a collection. I have scanned both color and b&w negatives. I created a collection called "negatives" I would like to refine this into two separate sub-collections "color" and "b&w". So far when I try to do this all I can do is a quick collection. It must be so simple, I'm overlooking the obvious. Help!!
Thanks in advanced
In the FWIW department, and or those that use Mac's. I've just installed two updates to Catalina and two (I think) for Adobe Photoshop. They seem to cure the jpeg error problem that has shown up. If this would be in chit-chat, please move it there, but it does seem to be "photography relate".
Mike
I jumped into Catalina, and have not had any problems other than what has been mentioned about an error code when trying to open previously saved jpegs. Not all have been a problem. Having said that,, there is a new update from Adobe for Photoshop. I will have to wait a few days before I can do the update, to large for me to use my phone a a hotspot. We are currently hunkered down at the USAFA Famcamp in our motorhome, at least till the weekend when the roads are cleared, it's snowing like a son-of-a-gun!!
I've just started using tethering while shooting. I've had great success with canon's software. I have a canon t-6 and a MacBook Air. I have complete control over my camera, focus, ISO, shutter speed and f/stop. For me and for what I do, it works great. The main point I'm making is, what I us works great for me. Don't get too far in the weeds with things, just play around with things, enjoy it and have fun!!
Thanks!! Both were fun to do.

straying off the beaten path, a little ( people do post youtube links, once in a while ); since many, or most of us have a dslr that shoots video, I wonder how many shoot an occasional ( say10 - 60 sec ) video with their dslrs ( such as fireworks, wildlife, etc. )? does anyone know a really easy software to use to take clips from these videos and stitch them together to make a compilations ?
Just my take, Adobe Premiere Elements is a great program and it will run on both a PC and a Mac. I've used it before, all you do is drag and drop for a quick, slap it together video. I have not used Windows Movie Maker, but it may also work for you. Just a word of advice keep your video to 4 minutes or less. Anything longer and people will loose interest real fast. I edited a video on a late 2008 Mac book with 4gb of RAM and a 128 gb drive. This included transition, music, narration and tittles. It was a special request from my sister for a fund raiser. I know that some Hoggers tend to get lost in the weeds, don't worry, just go with what you've got and press forward. Beware, you just might get hooked and want to go beyond the simple basics. Have fun and enjoy the experience!!
I have not had a lot of luck trying to upload photos in the past so here goes. I shot this in the garage/ham shack/studio. This is my first build of a three string, cigar box guitar. For more info just google, they have a history that goes back to the depression era. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.
Oh, and by the way, you don't have to wait for the new moon. Another app called New Moon will give you the rise and set times of the moon and if you are out away from the city lights it might also be possible to get the kind of shot you want.
This is a toughie. You should set your exposure using a particular formula. I believe it's 500 divide by the lens length. For my Canon T-6 using the shortest lens it urns out to be about 13 sec, wide open with the ISO being whatever. I know the smells you a lot, but I have shot with anywhere from ISO 200 to 1600. What you are trying to avoid is "star trails". A tripod and shutter release are a must. Having said all that if you have an iPhone there is an app called "Dark Skies" its free. all you do is plug in your focal length, and camera, its either an APS-C or Full frame and it will give you the longest exposure that is available for your setup. Lots of luck and I can't wait toes what you shoot.
No snide remarks here, loved my Goldwings, quiet an stealthy!! I sure would connect Honda about that one!! I have to pass this on, My wife and I were on a long trio to the Northwest, I on my Gold wing and and she on her Kawasaki 1200. We had just gotten through Salt Lake City when they were preparing for the Olympics. Insert was was a mess, no where to get off if something happened. Sure enough, we got through all that when my win died. Oh Crap!!! I Rolle over to the side, turned off the engine, tried to raise my wife on the CB no luck. Ok, lets try this. turned the key off, hit the starer, hey we are in business. Headed on down the highway. Turned out tube the "turn bank witch" that kills the engine when the bike goes over (heaven forbid), a stop at a local dealer in Ontario, Oregon. He didn't have the switch but agave me a copy of the schematics. A nick fit with a paper Clio fixed the problem till we got pack to Colorado. Lots of luck, I know this does't have anything to do with your problem, but thought I would pass it along any way. Lotsa luck, Mike

Really interested in your lens. But as usual can't do anything for awhile (a couple of weeks). I will keep checking to see if it has been sold, don't wait for me. thanks, Mike
Interesting commentary, I can relate for various reasons, and a great shot. Keep smiling :)
My $20 (.02 cents adjusted for inflation) I recall back in the late 50's or so whenWalt Disney had a Sunday show that was worth watching. There was one named "operation Deep freeze", don't quote me on that. The army build a base in the Arctic. Very short on details, as that was at least 60 years ago. This all I've got to add to the conversation.
