Enjoy it and keep sharing your shots

I am very, very happy to tell all of you that I bought a Canon 77D BODY (and battery and charger) from a very, very nice person on this UHH site, for a very, very reasonable price, and he is shipping it to me tomorrow (Monday, December 17th, 2017), and I will be able to use my husband's perfectly good Canon 100-300 mm 1:5.6 lens... (that was on a Canon EOS 620 film camera that he bought in 1987). He only asked for $350, and I did not ask for the lower price, he just offered in a PM. I'm on cloud nine!

I would never have been able to save up the $749 required for this camera body on Amazon. Never in a million years.
I am extremely happy. Now I might be able to capture some birds in flight, or on the water, with the zoom lens my DH already had.
I am not poor, but I do suffer from a high mortgage and a $623/month condo fee. It's expensive to live in Boston, and I'm staying here.

I think a lot of nice people on this site will be glad to know this.
This is a great forum full of nice people.

I have taken a few pretty good photos and many many not so good, but I think that the next photo I take will be a good one and the next hopefully a better one, so no I do not think I have shot the best photo I will ever shoot hopefully that will come with many more good and not so good shots and will sure have fun trying to create the best one.

Have you taken the best foto you're ever going to take in your lifetime yet?
If not, when do you think you will? Do you know when?
For example, I read all the time here that people have all these old cameras and like to go out and shoot with them.
I don't have a use for old cameras, only the best I can afford!
I haven't taken the best shot I'm going to take yet, and I'll be damned if it's gonna happen while I'm using some crappy old camera.
When I go out to shoot, I go out to take the BEST pics I can possibly get and treat each one like it's going to be my best ever!
So to that end, I always take out the best equipment I have!!
I certainly don't set out to take crappy pics with a Canon 20D or Nikon D70, just cause it is nostalgic for me and it still works!
So when you take the best pic you will get in your lifetime, what will you prefer to shoot it with??? Or have you already taken your best pic ever?!?! LoL

Thank you this is a good question which we should all ask ourselves from time to time as many times the reason we do things in our life changes. I use photography as therapy both physical and emotional, when I came home from Vietnam I could not even look at a camera much les pick t up and take photos it was just painful and very unsettling for me to do so as I would get overloaded with memories of all the photos I had taken of that place and the war, after about 3/4 of a year went by and I had been thumbing it through the country to try and find my place in that very confusing world I came back to I started to want photos to remind me of the places I have been. It took me awhile to develop the passion for landscape photography but I was able to force myself out of the house where I sort of hid from life as I had and at times still have very extreme anxiety when around group situations with folks I barely know. I really do feel that getting out and taking photos has helped me keep my weight down as I am disabled but can get walking exercise in and breath fresh air of the outdoors. I am able to use my photos as a conversation starter giving me something in common with those who I talk with so even though the professional part of my photography was with the Navy mostly of the recon before, during and many times the aftermath of the battles and operations we were involved in ( I have been working to get photos that I took released so that I can create a book from that period in my life but the government wheels turn slowly but I am making some headway), I feel that the landscape photos I take and street shots of everyday objects and people as a hobby have helped me keep my demons in check and fulfills a valuable spot in my life even to the point of saving me from myself at times it fulfills and makes me smile inside when I go back through old shots and memories come back to me.

Not due to holidays or weather but home selling and buying along with moving back to Sonora Ca.
sure have taken up my photo time still staying with my daughter the house we are buying is still in extended escrow due to seller paperwork not filed on time. Good part is when it's done will have plenty photo time as we are in Yosemite's backyard.

I realized that I haven't had much time for photography lately. Between the arrival of winter and the arrival of the holidays, I barely have a free moment. I like to drive for 30 - 60 minutes and then walk around taking pictures. With all the seasonal chores, holiday celebrations, and get-togethers, I haven't been able to do that. I'm free for the rest of today and tomorrow, so I can get things done around the house, but on Wednesday, more activities kick in. I guess it's better than having nothing at all to do.

Have any of you noticed a decrease in you photo time?

Don't give up I just had a hip replacement replaced as it went bad, this time it has worked a miracle,
I can now walk with a cane and no walker so nice to be free again. I have always used my equipment to photograph landscapes and street whatever my physical capabilities were of course I could not and still do not walk far into the mountains but drove to different perspectives you need to learn to see your shots differently but they are there. Photography will help you get out and enjoy nature and life you have a great camera that's almost just broke in give yourself a chance you will be glad you did you will get better over time I will keep you in prayers and share the shots you find would love to see the progress. A Mint condition Nikon D810 camera body with only 2253 shutter clicks. I am the original owner and the camera is a U.S. model. I have the original box, strap, instruction manual and caps. I lost the original battery but I have 2 off brand batteries that work just fine. I am also including 5 CF cards, 1-32 gig, 2-16 gig, 1-8 gig and 1-4-gig. All cards work fine and they are high quality cards. I also have an off brand battery grip that has never been used. The camera is super clean, no marks or any blemishes. I had to have hip surgery and I will not be able to do any photography so I need to sell the camera. I am asking $2,100 for everything. Please let me know if you are interested. I will consider any offers. I will have images on Sunday. Thanks for looking.

The D5 is a pro camera and more than I will ever need or want

And the D5 would NOT be considered a Super Pro Camera, in your estimation, then, Terry?

yep I used many medium format cameras in the Navy they are great and of course were film way back then,
I actually think for my purposes as a non pro these days that I get all I need and more from the cameras and lenses I already have. It would be cost prohibitive to get a super pro camera when not making some kind of living from it.

Over a MEDIUM FORMAT eye-level Mirror-less Dig Cam - for exactly the same amount, huh?

The reason for the question, Terry (NOT a comparison) is because they both cost EXACTLY the same amount!!!
