Look at tour books to get an idea what to see. Get a guide it will make things easier especially since you don’t have much time. Read The Source by James Michener for historical perspective.

The thing that catches me out is having a ring that won't unscrew. It can be solved, but until then its pretty worrisome.

I agree. Also you won’t be able to use your lens shade. Buy the right size filter for the lens you will be using. Look for used filters from reputable places. This advice is from someone who has used them. And organization is a headache.

Don’t forget the more you change lenses the more dust can get on the sensor. Bring cleaning supplies.

Wishing the same to you. Tonight I make latkes. The most important thing I found to to have the oil hot enough.
360 degrees is the temperature I will use.
Have a good good holiday.

So I’ve decided on purchasing a Fuji XT-5. My question is related to the kit lenses being packaged with the XT-5 the 16-80 & 18-55. The 16-80 just about covers the range I would like so I’m leading that direction. I would like to know from users who have this combination what they think ..,,, image quality, sharpness etc or if you had to purchase the Fuji XT-5 again would you pass on the kit lens and go with a different Fuji lens or lenses?

I read awhile ago that the 16-80mm lens at certain focal lengths wasn’t that sharp. The 18-55mm lens gets good reviews for a kit lens.. I would look for the lens I really want and buy that and forget the kit lens.

Lesson learned the hard way. Get a flash, learn to use it, I strongly suggest the following book, he gives simple ways to use a flash ON THE CAMERA.
