Thanks Rebride. He has 4 batteries and the problem occurs with all of them and has done since he first used it in hot weather.

Hi all, my brother-in-law has a Fujifilm finepix S200 ext and when the weather is quite hot the contrast goes to zero and it looks totally overexposed to the extent that darker parts of the picture are really faint and you have to wait for it to cool until you can use it again. The manual says 40 degrees C is a maximum but it seems to to wrong at temperatures lower than this. This happens when he visits us in Spain or his family in Canada. Any suggestions welcome. Thank you.

Little Egret and Adouin's Gull. I understand these are quite rare but they are quite common here in Alicante and other Southern parts of Spain.

Thanks JR. 'Beyond Megapixels' is another really helpful site to learn from. One thing that it did not explain is that when a lens is marked 3.5 - 5.6 but goes up to F32 it not marked 3.5 - 32. Is it because at 3.5 to 5.6 it is at its best?

Hi Albert, I live near Alicante. If you are a keen photographer I would certainly suggest you take take your Nikon. I am a learner with my bridge camera and take it with me most places but it is not heavy. The light in Spain is very good and I'm sure you will find views and architecture at least to shoot. Thanks for your advice. Where we live in Spain finding a photo shop is not an easy process but I will keep trying. There is no real hurry as my panasonic bridge camera has quite a good reach.
