I am fairly new to photography and have a panasonic lumix FZ45 which I am very pleased with. However, recently I purchased a 2 x tele converter lens and some conversion macro lenses. I cannot make the tele lens function without a really blurry picture. Does anyone know if I should be using an adaptor tube and if so why. My lens thread is 52mm and the tele lens is also 52 mm and fits well. The lenses are Neewer lenses.

Welcome Trudy. Try giving more information so we can have a better idea of what the problems are and how to help you. You may be getting blurry pictures because the camera is not focusing right or the shutter speed is too slow. Are your images normally sharp without the teleconverter attached? Post a photo so we can see what you are on about.

Hi, thank you for your quick response. Normally my photos are in focus on automatic and manual modes. The macro lenses from the same company - Neewer - seem to be working OK but the tele lens just will not focus whatever settings I use. Also, it is not magnifying the images beyond the normal zoom range of the basic camera. The camera has special settings for macro & tele conversion lenses. I think it is just the wrong lens for my Bridge camera but I appreciate your comments, thank you. I have attached photo as a sample of normal zoom on this camera.
Wow!!!! Great picture. And welcome.
This is a dandy! Welcome.
Fantastic Photo!! Welcome to the forum Trudy.
Welcome Trudy and good luck finding a solution. I have a funny feeling with it being a bridge camera it's just not accepting the lens. Can you take it back along with your camera? Maybe someone at the store can help you.

Hi Trudy
There is nothing wrong with your camera or your photographic skills, which is terrific, going by the dragonfly image.
Coming from a SLR background, converters are ususally attached between the camera and the lens. And let me tell you that my mind coundn't get round to the fact that bridge cameras don't have interchangeable lens but can take a converter on the front!
Read over the manuals for the converter and the camera again and follow the instructions diligently. If it still doesn't work, it sounds like the converter may not be compatible or it is faulty. Take it back to the shop for help or your money back. Good luck.
Thanks, this dragonfly posed for me for quite a long time making it easier to get a photo.
Thank you everyone for your advice and welcome. I have contacted Panasonic and they say the lens should just screw on and function but if not I can send it back. It was purchased on the internet by my brother-in-law in Scotland (I live in Spain now) so it may be a case of sending it back through him, a bit of a nuisance to organise. If I find an answer I will post it here for others, it may be helpful. Thanks to you all again.
