what's the fastest way to send pictures via email. I have Gmail. Not that that makes a difference. When I go to send them it just takes so long to download them. I was just wondering if their was a faster or more effecient way of doing it.

The speed issue is linked more to the speed of your internet connection than the size of the files. If you are using economy DSL or god-forbid dial-up, then you must make them as small as possible to get any speed (72 DPI 4x6).

We have 6.0MBS internet here at home as anything seems slow.

Many think that high-speed internet is really high speed but in truth you get the speed you are given at the rate that you pay.

Check your speed, both upload and download here:

Is it true that after 100,000 snaps or so, my camera may not be any good?

I put over 100,000 on my T1i and is still going strong. Of course that was in studio not outdoors.

I have used it on my 1D mark III and it performs wonderfully. It is a true Macro lens. This is not a macro shoot, but you can see how sharp the lens is.

Here's a macro shot I shot a week or so ago with my lens. Now I have had this lens for around 15 years and it still performs well.

Post some of your photos. That should help determine the issue or issues.

Mac is a cult for a reason.

Mind-blowing marketing is the reason. As a retired marketing exec. I can tell you without reservation that if for some reason Apple's advertising changed their market share would drop. Everybody wants to be cool and Apple's marketing department has created their image very carefully. This doesn't mean that their products are any less effective or productive but it does add about 30% to the price as someone has to pay for the advertising and that someone is ALWAYS the customer.

I have made this comment before, the best portraits I have ever taken (quality of image) was with a Canon 85mm f1.8 on my Canon crop sensor bodies.

Most graphic designers I have either hired or worked with use MACs because that was the system that was used by their schoole. The Art Institutes and other schools all use MACs and that is the primary reason why MACs are popular with the artist crowd even though MAC's processors were slower before they switched to Intels. MACs were not without issues, the primary one being hard drive failures. I haven't worked with one for a few years so I couldn't tell you if they had addressed that issue. As a business owner I had more hardware issues with the MACs in the graphics department than any PCs in the rest of the company.

Apple is very good at marketing and design but you get a lot of PC for $1000 and not much MAC. With the money you save you could expand your software library and add a lens to your collection.

You should install the canon utilities software and connect the camera via usb to the computer. You can then viwe the image on the computer AS you focus an dtake the shot. You need to be at f16 with spot metering and only the center focus point.

If that camera has an HDMI output, it will plaster the live view on your LCD TV.

Yes, the camera will connect to a TV but you will not have the control over the camera from the computer. Ie, the white balance, aperture, firing the shutter, and using the magnified live view with focus control. I use these everyday for product shots.

Here are the instructions from Canon:

Lighting is excellent, label should be turned to the viewer not away from the viewer. I would suggest adding a star effect on the rim of the glass. You could try removing the color cast from the glass of wine...just to see how it would look.
